What is the "Deck copy function in browser"?

    What exactly is this function?

Is this possibly going to herald the end of my long journey as the "single key deck swap" fan boy?

Is this the end of life as we know it?

Thomas, has my life purpose really come to fruition?

Someone, please end our misery (me and the other single person who want this)...

I got curious: what _is_ the "Deck copy in browser"-function?

Think that is has been discussed before, and it was not possible to do anything, because of the DVS technology.. Aften you press play/cue Traktor or any
DVS needs 20ms to sync, to find the spot.. that's why it is so inaccurate.
    It´s not a software problem..

"The search box isn't 100%! Where I noticed this most recently was when searching for a directory. For example, one of my sub-directories in my main MP3 folder is called "\!digital pool\" with all my record pool tracks. I used to search for "!digital" and pull up all of those tracks. Right now, its hit and miss! Some show up (when they feel like it) depending on case, if i ask really nicely, etc..
    "

    Used to be able to find tracks through filenames, but not anymore ; ;

I don't think you've tested the other versions of traktor. Version 1.1.x was accurate at this. The problem appeared at the 1.2.1 beta.

In version 3.4 this featured worked like a charm. I bought traktor for cd mode. So I why shouldn't it work?

That gap you told is caused, most of it, by the latency on your computer. The smaller the latency, the faster the response.

The problem here is that the cdj-mode is extremly inaccurate compared to scratch mode. It can be resumed to this: imagine the first beat of a track is at 00:00:68 on the timecoded cd in scratch mode. On cdj mode, I have tracks were the first beat is on track one of the timecoded cd.

    Clarified?

A group of users including myself have been trying to implement a single key deck swapping function similar to what is already implemented on a competitor's product.

Setup - one timecode control (TT, CDJ etc)

    1. Cue up track in channel A with Timecode.
    2. Use deck swap - track on Channel A swaps/moves to track B, track continues to play, timecode still controls channel A which is now empty so you can mix in new track. Crossfader direction doesn't change. Continue ad infinitum for one deck mixing bliss!

Users have tried assigning both functions to the same key, using modifiers among other methods.

Is there a chance this could be implemented? I know a lot of situations where only one deck is needed/required and this would be a god send to some users.

    Reply:

As far as I know, some people have achieved this functionality using the daScratch controller and its special MIDI software. We are considering this kind of functionality as a dedicated feature for an upcoming Traktor version, but I won't go so far to guarantee it.

The Deck Copy feature will be optional now, so it's not automatic when you load the same track to both decks.

    Try to disable keylock.
Everything is perfect with keylock off or Eco keylock.
Something is wrong with hiq keylock and timecode funcion in cd mode.
In vinyl mode is perfect too.
    Hope NI will fix this.

Talk about a Pyrrhic victory - needing to disable an important feature in order to get another one working :(

If I'm allowed to put forward my hunch (as if anyone'd be able to stop me from doing so), I think this is propably a combination of two things:

    a) The new HiQ keylock algorithm. I think that in order for it to do its job properly it needs propably a larger "chunk" of data initially than the "lower quality" keylock.
    b) NI introduced a "no skipping" relative mode - mainly for the benefit of vinyl timecode users. This might cause trouble in CDJ-relative mode, because while it replays the current frame, I can easily see why it would appear as "skipping" to the application. The biggest problems, as I've understood it, are experienced when using CDJ timecode control in relative mode.

It's pretty hard to have your cake and eat it too, it seems.

Well, I wouldn't call it "perfect", but it definetly appears to work better than CDJ-mode.

    Seconded.

    Another issue to add.

File access is horribly slow for Check Consistancy & editing multiple-tags at once. I suspect a new file access procedure is used that reads the ID3s anytime their are touched instead of the collection. I see the long-term benefit of keeping the files and collection synced (even if edited outside Traktor), however, the lag is very noticable with 70K files.

Check Consistancy used to take a minute or two to run... Now it taking MUCH longer (started 15 minutes ago and almost half way.) Hard-drive access is full access.

Editing multiple tags at once. When doing a group edit, it would only take a second before the tag editor would open. Now, if editing more than a handful (maybe 10) tags, the system freezes and hard-drive access goes nuts. I used to use this edit feature to update my ID3 tags when doing outside edits. Simple select all, edit, then cancel. It quickly touched the files and updated the info.

    ****
This isn't a hate on Native message, however, please make sure to work out these bugs before adding features. The 1.2.2 needed to be released as the auto-gain overwriting was a VERY bad thing... however 1.2.3 seems to be more of a feature release. I'm concerned about having TP because like T3 (more and more bugs with new features being added.)

No. Its been a busy week and haven't had time to do much. Just figured I'd post what bugs/issues I've found thus far on here as I can post several issues in one post. I'll try to get a ticket(s) made this weekend.

Hopefully they fix the problems with crashing and audio skipping/cut outs! Cause that is unacceptable when doing a gig!

Enhanced pitch fader range control - Moderators?

Anyone know how sensitive we can expect it to be in duo? Its pretty sh1t at the moment compared to pro.. plus duo cant adjust the sensitivity.. not sure why there is a difference with pro and duo for this.. id have thought pitch control is a fundamental of the djing system.. to make difference in fundamentals is pretty mean

does enhanced pitch fader range control mean its going to be similiar to traktor 3.

I used to have +/- 2.5% on my vci-100 pitch faders for fairly accurate BPM increases but at the same time i had a modifier (second midi page in T3) to switch the fader to +/- 100% (for a nice deck brake simulation)

I'm hoping this will be acheivable in 1.2.3 ....
