    Thanx for your suggestion.
I also had problems with uninstalling (got a "can´t find uninstall.log" message or something like that).

I managed to uninstall anyway and installed from DVD, runn the update but the problem still persists.

I emailed NI but haven´t heard back from them yet.
Oh and i didn´t take part of the public Beta version, so this issue might not be connected with the beta somehow.

Guess i call NI (live in germany so no big deal.)

If you have problems uninstalling, just do your best to remove all the obvious things from the Battery install (i.e. the application itself, the library, etc.), then run the 3.0 installer from the DVD, then the 3.0.6 updater.

As long as you don't manually move anything to different locations, this *should* result in a perfect 3.0.6 installation.

Install update : According to EW . There is a problem updating from version 3.04. You first should BACK-UP your LIBRARY if you have custom kits or sample sets.

    I'm using windows XP still.

    uninstall :Battery 3
Re-install from the original dvd. ( I chose to not load the library)
Go through the standard activation process with NI ( I did mine offline as usual )
Launched Battery in stand alone mode. Did a couple of options menu tweaks.
Started the update (battery 3 setup pc.exe )
    Everything went flawless
Repointed to my library in the options menu.
All kits and sample sets were available. I had a few 3rd party kits that I had to point to because they weren't in the original library locations. All in all it went pretty smooth.

    Complete uninstall/reinstall works

In Win XP SP3, my uninstall wouldn't work either, so I deleted all files, then using regedit.exe, deleted all references to battery 3. Reinstalled from original DVD (not the libs, as I keep them on an external drive)- oddly, it showed that it was installed and activated, but it wouldn't run. Not to worry, I ran the update anyway, and voila, after it fussed abit about the original install, it finally completed and now runs successfully.

I noticed when using regedit that many of the paths pointed to the external drive where the libs were, so perhaps my original installation was confused due to my own early confusion when installing the program on one drive and the libs on another? Stranger things have happened. Anyway, good luck!

Ok, will give it another try.
I managed to do a regular uninstall but didn´t use a regcleaner-tool, so i am gone try that.this time. Also Battery3 was still listed in the service center, even after uninstalling.

Thanx everybody for your help / responses. :)

Only a tip: For a complete uninstalling in OSX you must delete the app folder and the plist files associated to battery 3 that you can find in the folder "/YourNameUser/Library/Preferences.."

Or you can use a free app like "appCleaner" for uninstalling.

    Wohoo!
I managed to install the update :)

    -I uninstalled the 3.0.4
-used a Reg-cleaner (CCleaner) to get rid of all entry's which still where there
-installed the old Battery 3 version from DVD
    -used service center to register
    -installed the 3.0.6 update

    Everything went fine! :D

Thanx for the tip using a reg cleaner after uninstalling!

Works great in Ableton Live 8.0.5 btw.

Argh, it´s not working on my Laptop!

After i solved the issue on my desktop PC (see post above somewhere) i did the very same with the Laptop but it´s still not working.

    HELL!

    EDIT:

Ok, i uninstalled again and used CCleaner AND TuneUp reg Cleaner and now the update worked.
Weird that CCleaner alone wasn´t enough to get rid of all the registry entries.

Boy what a pain in the...

Well at least it works now.

Same here, no problem with Battery 3.0.6 on OS X 10.6.1.

In my experience Service Center often has some left over junk in the Update panel - today is the INTAKT 1.07 Audio Units Validation Hotfix for Mac OS Tiger. I can't tell you how many times I've downloaded that patch in a vain attempt to clear it from the Service Center list ;-)

Do you have to un/reinstall to its default directory path?

I have all my "Music programs" installed to one directory I have chosen myself...
