I will be skipping this update, because I see "don't fix what ain't broken" best applicable here.

Have you tried rerunning it? Closing NA, restarting, then rerunning the update?

I just tried it. Downloading was fine, the update itself took longer than usual, it seemed, but all worked in the end.

This update is specifically about fixing things that were broken: https://www.native-instruments.com/...l-update-status-maschine-current-2-8-4.80682/

No. But that's fine, of course (and understandable). Just didn't want you to be misinformed.

    Hey René must be Unique,

sorry to hear that. No clue why that is. We ran several installer tests that all passed. Also no one else has raised this problem so far, so I can only assume that it is not a general problem with the installer itself.

It seems like the installer can't find the locally installed version of Maschine... obviously - according to the error message.
Does the current installation show up correctly in the "Installed" tab or does it have the "Repair" button?

Also, if anyone else is experiencing this problem, please report in here.

Just to say my installation was completely painless :)

Rene were you previously running an earlier version to 2.8.3? ..if so maybe that was what caused the problem

    OK. Maschine 2.8.4 is running.

During installation, NA or the program to be installed will probably look for directories in the hidden ProgramData directory. I came across an empty directory there. This is probably the reason that the software could not be installed properly.

I did the following to solve it.
Version 2.7.1 (iso) (2.8.2 or 2.8.3 did not work, same error) installed locally, and then installed version 2.8.4 with NA.

Thank you everyone, for thinking along.

    René

    Hey René must be Unique.
Again sorry for the hassle. Seems like something went massively wrong over there. But I'm glad you were able to resolve the issue.

No, 2.8.3 was installed on the music system at the time of the error message.
    Thank you, René
