Does anyone know if we are getting an updated version of the Z2. Even a version with the little screens from the S4 MK3 would be amazing. Thinking about selling my Duo and getting a Z2 again, but not completely confident in purchasing a Z2 now when newer hardware may be on the horizon.

I was hoping for a Z2 MK2 for a long time but now I think that there won´t be anything new in this segment or at least not in the near future. Traktor Pro 3 being open for all soundcards is giving people who use turntables and a mixer new options at least. And with opening Traktor to all soundcards it wouldn´t make any sense for NI in my opinion to invest into R&Ding a new mixer that is only attractive to a small fraction of the DJ market. I´d be happy if I was wrong though...

With the opening up of DVS for all interfaces, you can get any mixer you want now. have been using TP3 with my mixars duo now and absolutely love it. I do miss seeing the loop/beatjump sizes on mixer tho.

True but not every mixer feels the same.
I have one to after a long search and research.
    So hopefully.

I bet there are a lot of people including me, who are looking for a fresh S9/72-style battle mixer under the 1000€ mark. Z2 is still the only other option.

I only had my z2 for 5 months and it died. Bought it from Amazon and even if I had the warranty I read the one amazon has doesn't cover it for whatever reason. NI please drop the price so I can buy another Z2 :)

You can use any mixer/interface that is recognized and supported by your computer. The Pioneer S9 and the Rane mixers for example all work with Traktor Pro 3. You´ll just have to do the mapping yourself if there is no official mapping from the manufacturer.

Yes, it's possible and works with TP 3.

    What's dying on your Z2?

Yeah, it's worth a look, but the whole Innofader-Mixars debacle made me a bit wary of their hardware. The availability of replacement faders is a real issue. Besides, why buy the knock off, when the Z2 is still available. ;)

I like the pads on my Duo better than I did my Z2. The only thing I miss from my Z2 was the loop size indicator.

Replacement Mixars parts are readily available. I have a second galileo fader sitting in the box. Hardware reliability is not an issue.

While the Z2 is a great Mixer for Traktor and Rekordbox, it can't be used with Serato. The Duo can be used with all three platforms (now that Traktor has open DVS support). We have other DeeJays over on the regular, so its nice having a piece of kit which anyone can use plug and play.

The availability of spare sure doesn't look that promising. Pro x-fade's web page isn't even working anymore and the last time I checked around June, they hadn't updated it since 2017. There wasn't even any info on what type of line faders Mixars uses. That was a red flag for me, since my mixers tend to take a beating.

Mind you, the Z2 isn't any better, and it is horrible to use with Rekordbox (without an external sound card) for a couple of reasons:
    - The led indicators can only show master output levels. A no-go in a gig environment and useless for recording.
    - Because of how the headphone circuitry behaves, you have to map the headphone controls somewhere else.

I would love to see a new Traktor z2 update or even some Traktor and Rekord box integration but I doubt that would ever happen. I wonder what they would do to bring the z2 experience into 2019

Looking at what's out there, for starters:
    - Two audio interfaces/USB connections.
    - The now-standard 8 pad layout.

Built in FX would be nice, but to keep costs down, I'd be willing to live without them.

This whole 'T3 is opened up for all interfaces' is of no use without midi mapping. All kinds of cool mixers have come (recently Reloop Elite) but they are not meant for us Traktor people.
