Upgrading from K10 to K10 Ultimate

    Bought Komplete 10 2 weeks ago and loved it so much that I ordered the upgrade to Ultimate today. From what I can tell, it comes installed on a hard drive.

    My question is, since I've installed 10 on my mac and ultimate will be on the hard drive, how do I go about updating? I'd rather have the whole system on the NI hard drive and off of my mac. Any steps I need to take?

    The Komplete Ultimate hard drive is only for installing; it's not used at runtime. If you don't want all of Komplete on your main Mac drive, you need to provide your own alternative drive (make sure it's a fast one if you're going external).

    Really useful post here as I always presumed the Komplete 10 Ultimate hard drive was to actually run the files from and not just for the install, but that makes sense.

    I have K10 and am thinking about possibly upgrading to K10 Ultimate too and was wondering the exact same thing, so thanks to both of you for your input.
