    Hello,

Just wondering if there is anywhere possible (or if Native Instruments will do it directly) for me to trade in my Maschine MK2 for credit towards the purchase of a Maschine MK3?

    Thank you in advance

edit: I live in Calgary Canada if that helps

My thoughts exactly...I currently own the Komplete 61 and Maschine MK2 and would love to buy new, but I have no use for more of the same products. Good question; hope we get some responses.

Sorry, you two. You won't get any serious help for these inquiries on this forum. You'd be better off contacting NI directly. However, given their customer service record, you'll probably never hear back from them.

But this forum...it is simply the habitat of about ten people who do nothing (well, surely they don't spend much time creating art, given the obsessive amount of time they spend on this forum) but complain about NI and, I'll wager, secretly(or not so secretly) blame NI for their own personal lack of creativity/success/what have you. I'd advise you to seek assistance elsewhere.

Im doubt very much there will be a trade in programme. Im surprised that it isnt even offering a couple of expansions to those of us who already own the software...in fact this will be my third license if I were to buy it, which I wont...because I dont want three licenses and a controller thatll go for $100 on ebay

so Ill be banging on with my MkI until the pads fall off :D

    Have finally been found out!!

Us complainers are purposely keeping back information on purpose just to spite people, we hate making music and yes we definitely blame NI for the fact we have terrible success (wow I really thought it would be like Glee) and massive lack of undercarriage, these are the sole reasons we moan and complain.

And NI will purposely not respond because they hate you.

So best ask "new members" such as yourself who know everything that goes on around here.

All makes perfect sense to me :p.

Back to my game of twister.. I am so bored have nothing to do..

You can do your own trade-in program. It's called E-bay. Sell your old unit and buy the shiny new one. That's what I'll probably do with my S61.

It might be worth some people doing some research themselves before mouthing off and bringing this forum down further @LonMY

Or you should read the actual question of the original poster which is not about license transfer.

Yes I think NI should open up a Maschine scrap yard ...where we can trade in our old controllers/keyboards for nice new shiny ones....:thumbsup:;)

Unfortunately I couldn´t sell my "old" Maschine on E-bay because I´ve crossgraded from Maschine 2 to Komplete 9 (and upgraded that to 11 recently), so my Komplete package is sticked to Maschine :-(

    Good idea :D
I´m pretty sure N.I. will offer some kind of upgrade option later on. The free expansions for existing owners buying Maschine Jam also were not announced on the first day.

It's quite the headache to sell the controller + perform a license transfer to the new buyer because there's no point in having two copies of Maschine software.

Dealing with a company (whichever that is) directly for a trade-in/trade-up would be much more streamline than having to spend potentially a few weeks trying to sort everything out.

If I wanted to use eBay to sell it I wouldn't have made this post asking about a trade program, eBay is very easy to use. So thank you to everyone who mentioned it :)

Referring to the upgrade, is someone interested in an Ableton Live 9 upgrade (from Live Lite -> Live standard)? Just PM me.

i wish native would do some kind of trade in or loyalty discount..i have maschine mk1/mashine mk mikro /komplete 11 ultimate so the software which comes with maschine mk3 would be useless too me because ive already got two spare copys of komplete 11 select and 2 copys of maschine 2 software.
i really would buy the mk3 hardware on its own if it as available or if there was a trade in deal..abelton did it with the push controller and donated the traded in controllers to charity im sure native could do the same or similar deal..
itd be brilliant if they said to stores knock money of for users who trade in there old controllers against a new one and you got more knocked off if you bought both the maschine mk3 and kontrol mk2 together id buy both because im a massive native instruments fan and user.

but if theres no deals then its a purchase id have to put of until i can justify buying it .ebay is no longer a proper option now due to timewasters /ebays high fees/scam artists who say they never recieved goods or try and return goods they broke or pass of faulty items theyd already bought and try to say its yours.

Some funny stuff there about the forum BUT one thing I didn't agree with and laugh at was your mention of the NI service, I've contacted NI a few times in my nearly 20 years with their software, I've always received responses and help when required.

Your mileage may have differed or you were just spreading folk lore, either of which would be a shame, my experience is over quite a long time and I've seen much worse service.

I've never seen an upgrade path for maschine, pity.

The free expansions is very different and is a ploy that obviously worked to add sales and tipped folk over the edge which is pretty funny IMO.

When the mk2 controller came out years ago many of us OG users asked for a cross grade, nope, did any mk2 users get cross grade to studio?

    Silence I think.

Sell what you've got and buy the new one or do like some others and own a couple/few models.

Loved Abletons Push 1 donation upgrade to Push 2. I always wished Akai and NI would have jumped on that bandwagon.

This is a common misconception. The crossgrade Komplete license and your Maschine license are separate. It's just that you have to have a qualifying license for the Komplete upgrade license to work. This currently includes any S series keyboard, Maschine 2 license, or Komplete 11 select. If you are going to buy another Maschine 2 license via another controller, then you will be good to go once the new qualifying license is registered.
