    Hello!
I just downloaded the demo version of Guitar rig 5.
I have steinberg UR22 mk2 as audio interface.
Heres my problem: If I load guitar rig 5 as a program without running it in maschine. It works great and I get sound input and output.
But say I wanna load GR5 in maschine and record some guitar on a beat, I don't get any signal at all from the guitar.
So what am I doing wrong? :)
Feels like it's something simple I have missed!
    Cheers!

You'll basically have to use the correct input (where your guitar is plugged into) as source in Maschine and put GR as effect on it.

This should be helpful in general: www.youtube.com/watch?v=nF3uGMYc5j8

Still doesn't get it to work, is there a special way of adding guitar rig as fx or is it just to add it under the sampler like in the picture? I get signal if I hit SAMPLING on the Mk2 but no signal in guitar rig.
Input is set to EXT.MONO IN 1L. Is there somewhere else i need to route it?
    Cheers

GR should be the first plugin on the slot, not the sampler. Input routing is under Channel>sound>input>audio

OKay now I know how to get sound at least :D Thanks!
Altough sound is sometimes "lagging" and sounds extremely distorted when playing it inside maschine, is there a fix to that?
And how is the best way to record guitar rig into maschine to patterns?
    Cheers!

The distorted sound could be a number of things. First try trimming the input level on your sound card to make sure the signal it is not coming in to hot. Then do the same with Maschine sound>channel>input>audio> gain.

The latency is likely coming from your audio card. You can try lowering the buffer to reduce latency in Maschine preferences under audio. Make sure you are using ASIO drivers for that card and make sure you are using a sample rate of 44 or 48k. You can also try sampling record second page to toggle monitoring on/off for sampling.

As far as recording to a pattern, Maschine does not have audio tracks so there is no way to directly record audio to a pattern. You will have to sample the audio from the guitar first and trigger the loop with Maschines sampler plugin with the pads. That will record midi data to the pattern to trigger the sampler loop.

If you want to sample with the Guitar Rig effects printed in you may want to set the routing up a little different. Do this by creating another group for sampling the one you already have set up. On the second group, set the sampling recording source to internal and under input you select the first group as the input source. This way the audio routing goes to the first group, through Guitar Rig, then to the second group setup to sample this. Once the audio is sampled, you can trigger it with the pads and record that to a pattern.
