Use different Patterns of same Group in a single Scene?

finally in 2.0 you see the length of a pattern within a scene, but how is it possible to use ie multiple different patterns of a group within a scene while the pattern of another group in the scene is longer?

    ie.

    .............Scene 1
    .............---------------------------------------------
    Group 1: |_Pattern1______________________________|
    Group 2: |_Pattern1____|_Pattern2____|_Pattern3____|

It's still one pattern per scene.

    Zolex,

Best way to accomplish what you want is to make Group 2 Pattern 1 a combination of your Patterns 1,2 & 3 and for Group 1 if you just want Pattern 1, and say it has only 1 bar of sound, extend that Pattern to the number of Bars in Group 2's Pattern 1 Combo (1,2 & 3 remember) and you should get the results you want (Kinda what you would see physically in a DAW)

It could be a feature request ! It is early but that's logic
The arranger is the same except view of real length of scene
I can't see here better flexibility just better monitoring

May be with the new midi routing it's possible to RECORD 1,2,3 in a new pattern in other sound-pads in other group !
Rec and switch pattern in realtime That's done
The problem is if there is modulations...

I thought this was implemented as well but it was the ghost patterns they added (which must be for the live performance guys). Life would be SO MUCH EASIER if NI allowed you to have multiple length + multiple patterns within a scene.

+1! Even for people doing live PA stuffs this would be terribly useful. Idealy there would be a "Scene / pattern RECORD" function that let you record what patterns are playing at what time within a scene. Example: Load up scene 1. Record a 1 bar pattern (lets call it pattern #1) and loop it within the scene for 3 bars. Turn on the SCENE RECORD function. Then make a new 1 bar pattern (pattern #2) that loops only for 1 bar. Before the hole scene loops TURN OFF the SCENE RECORD and it will play the 4 bars of the scene with these patterns: P1 - P1 - P1 - P2... repeate. :D

    Did this make sence?

I use Ableton and drop the different MIDI clips out of Maschine then run Maschine as a VST with your MIDI patterns on an Ableton channel and rerecord the different patterns back into Maschine to get variations or basically multiple patterns into one scene.
Still is very limited and doesn't work for all scenario's

Thank you. I'd heard of that I think. It's not so useful for a live looping sort of thing tho, yes? And for production work in Live, would there be advantages over simply arranging everything in midi right in Live? I havn't tried Maschine as a VST yet and I'm unaware of how much functionality you lose from the hardware when running though a DAW..

you don't loose all that much by running it as a vst except maybe scrolling the scene's with jog wheel and the play button

I'm new to machine. I've recorded a nice line accidently in two patterns. Now it's a pain to copy & paste all the midi events to merge the two patterns.. Machine pastes me my events to the cursor position - not the original position from the previous pattern. So I have to align them again and so on. Would be so easy if I could just drag the to two patterns next to each other in the same scene (or merge them at least).

I'm afraid of that you cannot merge patterns mate. But there would be a workaround calling Maschine as plugin in a DAW. Then drag the midi fom M into a midi channel of the DAW from Pattern1, do the same from Pattern2 to the same channel and then merge. Now you can export to file and import midi in Maschine.
