[EDIT - please see my post further down for clarification.... didn't want to destructively edit this first post otherwise EW's reply would not have made sense. JC]

It would be great if Massive's sound-menu included user-created sounds that have been saved in the the default library folder as well as the factory presets

(I was hoping a 'Rebuild DB' from the 'Preferences' page would add them, but sadly it doesn't...( )

Currently, the only way (AFAIK) is to use "Open sound.." or the "Recent Files" menu-options, which aren't the best methods if you have a long selection of user-sounds to choose from...

    Thanks,

    JC

Just out of curiosity, why are you saving them in the factory library location instead of the user library location?

    Hi Eric,

    Thanks for your reply.

Erm, good point... Because that's where Massive sent me by default when using "Save as...", & I've just realised that wasn't the 'correct' place to save user-files. And I've also just discovered the Browser window, which partly solves my problem by being able to select the different directories & seeing the corresponding sounds appear in the pop-up sound list. Sorry... that'll teach me to read the manual first! :)

However, I still feel it'd be very handy if all sounds (i.e. factories + My Sounds + Favourites) could all appear in the top pop-up list simultaneously if required, although I recognise this could cause problems if one has duplicated file-names in the different folders.

    Thanks again,

    Jason

    They can.

Go to the attributes window and don't select anything; all the patches (factory and user) will be listed in the list. Switch to the synth view; the same thing is true. As long as you don't have anything selected in the browser window or move to the browser window, it'll remain like that, including when you restart Massive.
