Hello, I was wondering if there's a possibility to use battery's library within Maschine?
The file extensions of battery's samples can not be imported in Maschine's library. Is there a way to get this done or is it just not possible? Am I forgetting something here? Thanx in advance... Earthphunk

You can only use the wav's, not the patches.
This is planned for a future update. (battery/kontakt import)

^^^ where you see kontakt import is planned? lol... I know they said battery, did they say kontakt too? That would be pretty ill son! lol. I have a lot of kontakt instruments that use scripting and such...not sure maschine can handle that.

just lemme plug kontakt into macshine lol. Or battery, or any other ni plug :)

yo thats would be ill and im sure it will boost more sales of the komplete bundle if ni would integrate all ni vst's.

oh that would be so dope. maschine hosting massive or reaktor vst plugins! :)
would be also a smart way to get around the midi channel problem in ableton for people who dont own kore.

Damn, don't seem to find where i read kontakt import, maybe some wishfull thinking lol?

Anyway i'm almost sure that battery/kontakt import (initialy) wil be just the sample mapping, looping, simple functions like adsr etc, and not scripting, fx etc wich is understandable, until maschine has the same fx/ functions as those progs.

That said i wonder if it just wouldn't be easier to implement opening plugins within a group slot, rather then programming import for different sample formats.
And it would be financially more interesting for NI. (boost sales)

Wasn't battery and kontakt using the same file extensions when they came out in the beginning? Maybe that's how i got the idea, could be wrong though.

at the beginning you could import Kontakt files into Battery. you can still do that with Kontakt 1 files but not later versions.

personally, I'd rather see the ability to use kontakt itself inside maschine, battery kits may be cool to import, but I'd rather just have the ability to open NI's plugs in maschine and use their own features.

Maschine doesn't have the same complex sampling engine as kontakt or battery, I think it would be a great incentive to own multipe NI plugs or Komplete...

some sort of 16 space "rack" in maschine would kill all competition even more than it already has.

That would be nice. With each part on it's own pattern. Maybe a way to link with Kore if you own it. It detects 1 or multiple Kore instances and lets you browse and select sounds from the Maschine controller. "Kore groups" or "Kore tracks" with Kore browsing. :)

That or merge Maschine and Kore into one super workstation.

Or integrate Kontakt player in Maschine with it's own tracks. If you have Kontakt you can open up and edit the sound. This way the Kontakt powered instruments will work with Maschine.

bro that is like my ultimate dream lol... kontakt player would be ill actually, as long as it's in it's own separate "rack" so to speak. 16 slots of kontakt/kontakt powered instruments would be a dream come true.

sure, I'd like to see the ability to integrate all NI plugs in there, but if it was only Kontakt I'd be happy, I use kontakt the most anyway...it's really my main sound module.

I use it more than Kore as well...I just love the kontakt layout and easy of use. Layering is simple too.

hoping we see something like that develope in 2010! lol.

Bump... I remember Battery Kit Import mentioned as a future enhancement to Maschine but it's not been bought up since... Is this still being implemented at some point?

    Thanks. :)

I think building the Kore engine into Maschine would be more logical.

Then Maschine users could buy NI's kore-based sound packs.

Ideally, you'd be able to host any plugin within Maschine, Kore-style... but I guess it might have to be NI Koresounds only... initially at least.

Battery import is certainly at the top of my request list. Personally, I think this should have been included from the off, and I think this feature might have convinced a few Battery users to join the Maschine band wagon...

Would be nice if one of the third party software companies jumped in there to bridge the gap until NI get round to sorting this out (CDXtract etc.), might even convince me to shell out some more cash on sample libraries.....

    dl.

oh yeah, and hi to all :)
