Hello. As a bit of background, I'm an amateur composer using the REAPER DAW to create my music with, using the piano roll to create midi tracks for VSTs to play back with. In other words, I do not use a keyboard of any sort for my composition, and have no ability to do so.

With that out of the, I recently purchased Electri6ity as an upgrade over the free VSTs I had been using up to this point, and was particularly drawn to it due to the breadth of sound it seems to have, illustrated by the demo of using keyswitches to create effects such as tremolo, legato, trills, and so on in it. Looking at the settings within Electri6ity, it looks like the same should be doable via CC's. Unfortunately, I do not know how to use these at all -- all attempts to learn how to do so on my own have failed, asking elsewhere hasn't gotten me anywhere, and all tutorials I find assume the use of a keyboard, rather than how I do my compositions. If anybody here could at least point me in the right direction on how to get to properly use CC's here, it would be much appreciated.

im unsure as to what you are asking exactly??
but im going to assume you are possibly using the Maschine Hardware to use the Electr6ity vst, and wish to utilise some of the CC's to add tremolo/pitch bend etc etc...

in maschine... normally when loading a Vst instrument parameters would normally automap
and this shows up in the sound --->>plugin and represented in pages
if the parameter is not in this list, then it requires a different approach .... on how to map the tremolo/pitchbend CC's

In Reaper its slightly different in that you can re-Map tremolo/pitch bend CC's...
in this video it essentially shows you what to use and how to do it...

note that in the JS: pitchwheel control plugin he uses you should be able to assign the CC value or button you wish to assign it to...
i havent done this yet to test it, but it should work......

another consideration is to learn about installing Realearn2 in reaper which is really powerful for assigning midi CC's etc... but that requires a little bit of setup and installation and learning... which is shown in this video

and just to cover all bases... if you aint using any midi hardware whatsoever, and are only using your keyboard....
then you can use the virtual midi keyboard on your PC in reaper... by using the virtual midi keyboard which is found in the View menu... at which point you will need to enable the virtual midi keyboard --> input midi on your track and then use the JS: control plugin as shown in the previous video

Sorry, does not look like any of that answered what I'm looking for. I've attached an example of what I'm trying to do; in particular, I'm trying to make that set of alternating notes a trill. Other notes in this sequence are meant to be hammer-ons or pull-offs. I've done some more experimenting since I last posted, and am able to at least get Electri6ity's tremolo keyswitch to function well. But when it comes to trills/hammer-ons/pull-offs/etc, it just doesn't seem to work; rather, adding the keyswitch just mutes the track for its duration. I've tried several of the built-in keyswitches (Trill 2St and Legato String in particular) but all do the same thing.

Is what I'm trying to do even possible without an external keyboard, or am I just severely hampered by not having access/knowing how to play one here? electri6ity in reaper example.png

trills/hammers/pull off etc and the relative speed you need them to come in... requires that your grid be set at a higher resolution
im also guessing with hammer on's& pull off's etc they tend to also have a difference in velocity, to make it more pronounced when imitating that action on a external keyboard
    *shrugs*

Could you elaborate on this? I'm not sure what you mean exactly.

Tried altering the velocity of the notes, it does nothing for the most part except silencing them completely when the velocity is under a certain value.

    just thinking it through...
in the example of a pull off...
the first note would be short... and have a lower volume and very quick decay to the eventual end note which would have a louder but longer sustain..
that is how i would view it....
