    Howdy,
I have K13 and I noticed that a local music store has a hard drive upgrade to Komplete 13 Ultimate Collector's Edition but the product title had (K8-K12) in it. Unfortunately, the website doesn't have any description accompanying the product. I contacted them and asked about it, and they were very non-commital about if it would work; they just linked to the NI website and said that it *should* work. But then when hard pressed they said it was up to me to ensure compatibility (which I understand, but not when I don't have enough info for my simple brain to calculate it it is or not)

I would think that if something was an upgrade from an old version, than it would also work for a newer version too.

Does anyone know if there are upgrade units out there in production that were only ever for "K8-K12" that wouldn't work with K13, or if it's a moot point and it'll work?

    Thanks.

Yeah you may have to ask NI about that. Upgrade cost of K13U > K13 CE is $899AUD (when not on sale) so that is a decent price and it does seem it is an upgrade from K8-K12 > K13 CE which would be an even better deal and I would Think it would also cover K13U > K13 CE but personally i'd ask NI about it if the vendor cannot confirm and wouldn't accept a return. Personally i'd wait for a sale on the NI site and purchase direct since the box will simply sit on a shelf and collect dust these days.

Yeah, it does seem like a "too good to be true" deal which is why I'm thinking I want to snap it up asap...if it works.
I've even looked at trying to buy a cheap K8-K12 version to make it happen but I can't find any.
And I've thought of waiting for an NI site sale, but I know they just had one and I don't know when the next will be...and I'm impatient.
I did try to find a direct contact to 'tech support' on the NI site but all I could really find is the FAQ/Article section and this forum...
