Using Komplete Audio 6 interface as a Drum Trigger

Hi, first post. I'm looking to buy a set of drum triggers to convert my acoustic drum kit to a hybrid/electro kit. I have a komplete audio 6 mk1 interface and would like to use it as a trigger module of sorts. I don't want to purchase a seperate drum module as I have Ableton 10 and a catalogue of samples and virtual instruments. Would this work for all 6 inputs on the interface? Or at all? I ask because the ddrum website states "Ddrum Triggers are compatible with almost all drum modules. As long as they feature a 1/4 plug in and parameter adjustments for sensitivity." It's the "parameter adjustments" part I'm curious about. Anyone ever try this? Thanks

Do you have a software alternative in Ableton to a drum module that can understand the signal being sent by the triggers and convert it to MIDI? That's what drum modules do, so if you're using software to it, it needs to have a sensitivity adjustment to prevent double triggers, missing hits, etc... (assuming it's ok/safe to send the electrical signal coming from the trigger to the interface)

There are probably triggers out there that can send MIDI directly but will cost you more. I'd just get a used module; skip the sounds it comes with and use it's midi out connected to the DAW, I am not an expert tho... so wait for others to advise.

That's what I was thinking of doing if this didn't work. I've definitely read and heard of others running straight into 1/4" jacks on back of an interface. So yeah I guess the question is how to convert to midi. Can it be done in real time digitally? I guess I'll do some more research into this. Thanks D-one, you got me thinking straight.

It can. I would only attempt to even try if your typical project can be run at a small buffer size, if your computer requires you to use a buffer of 512 to avoid audio problems I wouldn't bother as the latency will defeat the purpose.

There are solutions out there, but from what I've seen it requires you to have a good grasp on general audio and MIDI knowledge, dynamics, gating, thresholds, how to clean up the signal if you get spill, etc... ReaGate plug can detect audio hits and convert it to MIDI:

Surely there are other plugs out there that can do the same.

If you got Suite version of Ableton I guess you can try this:

Don't go buying anything based on what I am saying tho, I'm assuming a fair bit here since I've never tried any of this.

I do have Ableton suite, and a bit of knowledge pertaining to recording, just self taught and the knowledge has large gaps. I found the second video earlier today and decided it was prob my best option (also free). I downloaded the KTDrum Trigger plug-in but won't get to the triggers for a while. Gonna wait till the holidays are over and I'm moving anyway at the end of the month so life is getting packed up at the moment. I'll report back once it's all done and let you know how it went. Thanks for your help and time.
