Using Maschine with Virus Polar Ti as controller.

I have the weirdest issue when using the virus as a controller.
Everything works fine until I click any button on the virus. When I do, every note i play on the virus is routed to Sound 4 on the Maschine regardless of which pad is actually selected.

If I have both my Motif and Virus activated as Midi inputs at the same time, the Motif triggers the selected pad as it should even when the Virus is stuck on Pad 4. This leads me to believe its specific to the Virus.

This issue occurs whether the Virus is connected directly to the Maschine via a Midi cable or its connected to my Mac via USB.

The only thing that clears this up is a restart of Maschine. Even pressing the transpose button on the Virus causes this issue immediately.

My hunch is that the virus is sending some kind of sysex that makes the communication between the Maschine and the virus weird.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

 

I found a temporary work around for this. By setting the parameter
Target(under Edit Config-> Knob Behaviour) to a value of Internal, the sysex
messages are no longer sent to the Maschine.
