This instrument is ridiculously eating up my cpu meter in ableton. I really don't know what else to do. The way I'm using it is opening the reaktor player into an instrument rack in ableton/dragging it into and external instrument track. Is there another way that's more efficient? I've optimized the buffer and sample rate, etc. I've turned off the 3d graphic display in razor, changed the quality to low, turned the voices to one and yet I'm still getting pops and clicks. And when I turn poly on and play 3+ notes it bogs down so bad.. Holy sh*t.

As I play a single note, the cpu fluctuates from 11 to 30 to 70 back to 50 then 60,etc.
Any advice? I read something about native instruments and a new 64bit update for some products but with ableton excluded still running 32bit. This isn't the problem is it?

    Thanks for the help.

Don't use an external instrument rack.

Just drag it into a MIDI track.

I've tried that too. It essentially does the same thing.

Last night I closed ableton and everything. A little later I opened everything back up and it worked really well for about 5 min then it went back to popping/clicking and bogging. I didn't restart my computer or anything and I don't have a problem with ram. Running a late 2008 macbook pro with 6gb.

And also, it does this with other Native Instrument software too. Mikro Prism, Kontakt, and all the other free stuff.

Is the VST buffer size set to 'same as audio'?
I have a 2008 MacBook Pro with 2GB Ram. No problems like that.

Yeah. They're both set at 44100hz.
Right now its running pretty good. As long as I'm not playing 4 note chords.
I don't know what the deal is.

Well scratch that. Now it's making ableton freeze.

I kind of regret spending money on this now.

Under CPU/Plug-In buffer size. Change to "same as audio," this solved it.
The cpu meter still goes a little crazy, but it now sounds perfect. I was just looking at the sample rate of 44100hz in ableton and matching it with the sample rate in reaktor/razor.

I just overlooked the cpu tab I guess.
Anyway, problem solved. Thanks for the help!

hmm i also have the problem.

not even chrods just single notes...
in 10 secs the buffer is at its limit and i get crackeling noise.

usualy razor eats extraordinary cpu like 30 % ... same with prism.

but now i have the problem describe above.
litle project, cpu usage 30 % when i turn on razor, i get a crackeling noise.

in ableton settings under cpu the plug in buffer size is set at same as audio.

what can i do to solve the problem?

and also is there a way that prism also not eats so much cpu?

    thanks :)

Do you have the latest ableton update? Should be 8.2.2

yes its the lateste live version. and service center is also not showing an update for reaktor, so i guss there is non.

what i forgot to say: system is core 2 duo 1800, 2gb ram, vista 32bit.

and i tryed it out, whith qulity set to low, the problem with cracks and sometimes cpu over happens, with quality med its mostly over cpu over, and with quality high, after a few seconds reaktor says: prcessor overload.

in ableton options under cpu plugin is sat as same as audio. and in reaktur under cpu in the top right corner, sample rate is set to 44k. samplerate set at 11k causes almost the same problem.

    thanks in advance :)

I'm not sure mate. Running razor in 8.2.1 was my problem. It didn't notify me there was a new update. But 8.2.2 fixed it for me.

Also, I'm running 6gb of ram. How is your overall disk memory when running razor in ableton?

increase the buffer size in Maschine's Audio Preferences.
