sure, you can do that. hook up the REC out on the DJM to either input channel C or D on the S4 (make sure to set the channel to LINE via the hardware switch).

i would just record via audacity. if you're on windows, make sure that the right input channel is selected.

that's right, i meant selecting LINE (as opposed to PHONO) on the hardware switch on the back.

can you explain how you are trying to record? if you record with an audio editor such as audacity--which is what i would recommend--you shouldn't see any signal on the S4's channel meter. those meters only show a signal when the signal is routed through traktor.

    Hey guys

    Really hoping you can help...
Im the resident DJ at my local club and I really need to record my sets.
    I dont use traktor at work (DJM800 & CDJ900's).

I could just download a free sound recorder for mac I suppose...

But i've recently invested a lot of money into Traktor Scratch Pro 2 w Audio 10.
And at some stage i'd like to use my best recorded mixes to put up on sound clound etc... basically I want the recording to be very good quality.

Are the free software recorders going to do the job?
Or should I use the high quality sound card I have forked out for and record through that.

I've already put literally HOURS into trying to figure out how to configure the settings in traktor and how to wire it up so that I can use traktors record function to record my sets at work (not using traktor) but havn't been able to figure it out.

If anybody out there knows how to... Please help!

At the moment i've been trying to plug RCA's from rec out on mixer to either deck D on audio 10, or master in (tried a few diff ways to no avail) then the out - into a 3.5 mil jack into the mic jack of my macbook pro...

I also have the audio 10 plugged in via USB to make sure it is communicating with my laptop to record (if this is even necesary..)

a bit lost as to how to hook up and configure :( any help would be MUCH appreciated.

    Cheers!
