hi guys, I need a way of using shift keys in traktor. basically I have a controller (eks xp10) and I want to be able to assign multiple actions to the same keys on it. Usually this is done by assigning shift keys. So, if I press button 'A' on its own it will just flip the deck into reverse, but if I press button 'Z' first then 'A' takes on an entirely different function and as soon as I press 'Z' again 'A' reverts back to its normal function.

Anyone know how to do this??

    regards,
    glen.

Not supported in Traktor you would need to be able to do it entirely in the controller. doues your controller have preset layouts? Try those if it does.

I was thinking about this the other day also... It seems that none (or very few) of the Traktor SHIFTed functions are assignable.

For example, I couldnt find a way of mapping a right-mouse button click on the cue/play button to a key. Holding down SHIFT while pressing the MIDI button doesn't work either...

The same applies to Edit BPM - I wanted to assign a button to increase BPM in the same way a right-mouse button click would (increments of .1 instead of .01) but could not.

This means I am forced to launch the edit BPM dialogue which is clunky to use in mid-mix and covers up the waveform display. I would much prefer to be able to raise/lower BPM with a button click (by.1)

Anyone with experience setting a button/control up for this purpose (editing BPM on the fly), pray tell!! I'm using an Evo X-Session. Thanks in advance :)

PS Im probably being really thick and there is some kind of assignable SHIFT MIDI mapping...
