will using only wav-file instead of mp3 crap bring a better performance to traktor scratch, since mp3-decoding would use more cpu power then non-decoding wav-files?

No idea about TS but TDS analyses uncompressed files (WAVs and AIFFs) much quicker than MP3s, which implies that you might be right.

well, i heard serato run´s better with wav´s - so should be the same here. anyone does this: rip their vinyl to wav/aiff and only play uncompressed files?

    thanks.

at least loading time of wav files is way faster than of mp3's. except of this i can't notice any difference in performance.

PM3 decoding = CPU footprint, but VERY small.
WAV = better sound, of course - but no one will hear the difference on a standard DJ syu
    stem.
MP3= (extended) tags. WAV= no tags.
WAV= much larger files = much larger (very fast) HDs.
    ----
Although my club's sound system is top-notch, I've stopped experimenting with WAVs: can't hear any difference.
But when ripping, I always keep the original WAV on a separate HD - and, if need be, edit a copy of the original before converting to 320Mp3.
Also, if for some reason you need to premix or blend several tunes offline, it's easier to work with WAVs.

    Just my 2 cente :)
