I ve been scratching my head about this lately....
So I am getting into the Urban Loops library and in specific using the Groovebox to make my own patterns on the available sets. While I have tons of other ways to program beats, somehow the simplicity and the sound quality appeals to me. But other than creating an octaves worth of patterns and trigger them in my host from c4 to b4, I can't think of other ways to incorporate it into a classic Host based workflow to build tracks.

So this is my question : am I missing any obvious ways, like midi-file generation that I could use to have better control over the Groovebox?

What I do in ableton live 8 is track out the loop and set it to be between 2 and 4 bar segments for each clip. Then if I want to tweak the groove I either warp the track and play with the time stretch or just use the grooves feature to change the sqingbof things. I tend to mess with it on the sp1200 1/16 with54% swing.

    Hope that helps
