v1.1 Initial Thoughts ?

any way to download this without using service center? I need to use a downloader program that resumes interrupted downloads. I live in the cloud forest of Costa Rica and our internet connection is a 20 mile wireless link to the nearest city. It can be a little flaky at times.

 

Yeah . login to the Support Section on the Website and go into Personal Update Manager. The v1.1 installer will be there for you now.

just had a play

just had a quick play with it. instantly the pops and clicks i have been getting when initially starting effects and cueing have gone. the key lock is much improved from what i can see, although i didnt use it much before, no more watery sounding distorsion now.

also probably just my imagination, but does it sound better too?

 

Our farm is a pretty amazing place. 4 acres on about 150m of frontage on a small but serious river. Been here five years since our first kid was born. The "town" we live in is at the very top of the water table for the entire region. There are less than 30 people living upriver from us. It doesn't get much cleaner. And growing up around here has turned my 3.5 and 5 year old into complete ninjas. I have kept a pretty successful business going for the last 3 years since I finished building my house (and found myself broke) and I have only had to leave the farm 2-3 days a week. Leaving a lot of time for mixing. Too bad I only got Traktor this past Novemeber.

In about two months we're going to be heading back to the States for the first prolonged period in 5 years. It will be interesting to be back in Western civilization as more than a tourist.

 

Just had a couple of hours playing around. Everything that concerned me with the previous release seems to have been fixed.

Positive it sounds much better too. Just compared a recording from tonight against a couple I had done over the past few weeks and there is a significant improvement in quality. Is it me or do the filters also sound better?

I think I'm ready to make the move away from Ableton for my gigs.

 

It's really odd to "feel" electronic devices or software.. But just as you know you have sturdy hardware (1200's ,CDJ1000) untill now (knock,knock) I actually look at the package and start to "feel" that stability.

I have the same sensation about the sound, but I wonder if it's just our strong will bending our mind.

First impressions......

i have literally just installed it and mixed for 45mins, i've not even looked at my settings, read any forums posts/instructions, nada

my collection appears intact, there was a message at the beginning about my collection being auto backedup and then converted. fine.

SOUND QUALITY IS MASSIVELY IMPROVED, key lock is back with a mean ass pro style vengeance me likey!

There appears to be something not quite right with my vci 100 jog wheel settings, on the plus side my customised Evo 4 midi controls are intact. Will investigate this I'm sure its likely a setting.

It also seems more stable, no clicks pops etc even with wireless on and running a few bits in the background, nothing too intensive mind, I was intending to try and "break" it by running loads stuff etc but once that vastly improved sound came through the speakers I was drawn into my mix tee hee!

Thats exactly what Traktor should do to me so overall i'm pleased with this update so far! Well done NI!

This weekend i'll test it in a very hard session

Does anyone knows how the new update handles a T3.4.1 collection? I WILL of course back everything up, but I wonder if I will still have to redo all my beatgrids...

The install went smooth.
and pro is preforming well.

My layout issue that had my browser diapering half of the time is fixed.

now all I want is to be able to see the master clock and FX1 at the same time but for now I'm very happy.

If you have done "Write Tags Async" on your T3.4 collection then your old cues/grids should be preserved. Mine were 100%.

How to activate and use the Synchro Start not know, it works only sometimes.
If I've enabled keylock and a change of position pitch fader awarded weird unnatural sound.

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.

Ok really just two.

First, I use a motorized fader device for control, and now they are "sticking" somewhat... TPro is sending out MIDI to hold the fader where it is, when I want to move it. Prolly just deleting the MIDI outputs for the faders would help, but that kind of defeats the purpose.

Second, the Preview Bug has been fixed! No more Loud-As-It-Can-Be previews! Thanks!

 

Very disappointed:

Interface freezes / innacessible after changing TPro window from full-screen to windowed

Pops and clicks are just as present when moving the CDJ platter back and forth (reported this via trouble ticket a long time ago). Does this with all latency settings too.

High-quality key correction still distorts audio when CDJ pitch is at 0%

Typing in search box still causes the browser window to refresh / flicker constantly.

When starting up TPro, the window auto-minimizes!

I've waited so long...for this? Software is still unusable. Nothing that I have reported problems with has been fixed (with exception of adding tooltips when information button is enabled).

And yes, it's definately v1.1 that I'm testing - checked About menu.

Open beta testing is the only way to progress development.
