    Hi all,

I just wanted to give you a pre-notice about upcoming release 1.1. It will include support for loading Instruments from Ableton's User Library - eg your favourite presets for effects. Also you can now change track color with the JAM too. :) I will also update the manual to include critical step that was missing (selecting the correct Ableton Live 10 M4L template with Controller Editor) plus some other enhancements to make it easier to read. I hope to finish the update within the next weekend.

Release 1.1 available and all existing customers should have received it already.

    Change Log:
    Release 1.1.0 - 29.4.2021
    - added support to load items from Ableton's User Library
    - improved UserGuide instructions
    Release 1.0.0 - 9.4.2021
    - initial release

So basically now you can load up your favourite Ableton Instruments/Effects/M4L device presets directly from your JAM. Because I haven't found and nobody have reported any issues with existing version this is the only change for this release. I think I'm soon running out ideas what to do next - anyone any nice ideas you would like to see implemented?-)

And link to the script is the same: https://gumroad.com/l/hxr-jam-11-r10

Hi, I just bought the script and it is great. Congratulations on a job well done! It works really well. I am starting to recommend it to many friends and I hope to make a video tutorial about it in Spanish to upload it to YouTube throughout this year.

    Suggestion:

-Would it be possible to turn Audio Effects on and off in Control mode?

Thanks for the work, here you have a new member of your community and I hope to be actively present when I have more time and give you more feedback :)

Happy to hear you like the script. Turning AudioEffect (or any other Live device) on/off is a great idea - I will think about how it would best fit into the current workflow. I'm pretty sure already that it is doable but I just need to think how it should be done. I will update you later when this could be available.

Damn. After looking into the APIs that the Live provides it seems that this may be impossible to do until Ableton enables this into the API.

Hey, I really enjoy the scripts, specially loading VST & FX with the swing button.
It might be impossible or out of scope but is there a way to load/browse KK presets VST from the Jam?

It is not perfect but there is a way to load KK preset - here is what you need to do:
    1. Select the KK preset you want to store.
    2. Select the Abletons Instrument Rack device and save that with unique name - for example:
      Code:
HXR KK Battery Drums 4 BUS
    3. Configure this stored Rack device into UserPluginConf.py - for example:
      Code:
      'USR/Presets/Instruments/Instrument Rack/HXR KK Battery Drums 4 BUS.adg'
    4. Restart live and enjoy. :)
I hope this helps you going - just let me know if this does not work.

Note: This requires version 1.1 since the support for loading from UserLibrary was not available on the initial release.

It would be great if KOMPLETE KONTROL would allow us to assign preset up/down + load MIDI CC in the future

Hello, I bought it from your website and couldn't make it work... I send you an e-mail but you didn't answer me, so I'm asking for your support here.

The problem is that Ableton 11 didn't recognize the MIDI Input, even with all lights up and Controller Editor recognizing it as you can see on the Screenshoot.

Hi Yuri! And first of all - sorry for the delay in the response - I've been extremely busy with my day job and I haven't even opened my music laptop in weeks. :(
Based on the screenshots you sent I'm confident to say that your issues is not related to my script. Reason why I'm saying this is that if you take a look of the row number 3 in your Ableton MIDI Preferences - the HXR_JAM script is recognised already since you have chosen it but the real issue you are having is that the Maschine JAM is not recognised since it does not appear in the Input list at all. With this issue I must say that I've no idea where this may come from - especially since it is Windows. My recommendation is to take a look of the Log.txt file that Ableton Live generates to see if there is any hint why Maschine JAM is not recognised.
Can you connect (and change the layout) to your JAM with ControllerEditor?

    BR,
    HXR

I guess there could be a problem related to MASCHINE JAM Drivers for Windows. :D

This was my initial reaction as well but since I haven't used Live with Windows for over 10 years and I've never used it with any Maschine device - I didn't want to try guessing anything since it may be totally wrong direction to look into.

My question now is, how to Arm a Midi/Audio channel on the Maschine JAM with your script?

Please read the manual first. Select a single track by just choosing track with A-H. If you want to arm multiple tracks then press Shift+Grid to enable arm selection. When you enabled ARMing then you can hold Shift+A-H to select multiple tracks - and you can move left/right with the normal arrow buttons.

I post my question here (already sent in mail but maybe you check here more often).

Hey Haxor, thanks for the script you created for the Jam! I'm trying to set up a live-set in Ableton with a Jam right now and since the native template doesn't seem to work I'm interested in your software.
I checked through the UserGuide and the only thing I don't understand is:

. when setting the touchstrips as CONTROL, which "device parameters" are controllable through the strips? I would only need the Macros on the top device, which are "casually" 8 as the Jam' strips. All the parameters of all device would be totally overkill for me (scrolling them in real-time while playing).

So my question is, can I only control Rack Macros with your script by selecting clips? Or at least does the control default on the Macros first?
I'm really interested in your script because I never thought the Push can be a substitute for the Jam's spectacular strips, soo... I really hope your reply is positive. Finger crossed!!! :D

    Thanks! Lorenzo

Hi Lorenzo and sorry for the delay - I've been trying to avoid checking my emails while being on vacation.
You have a valid question and I hope this clarifies how my script is working. Basically all the device parameters are mapped to the touchstrips but as you said it may be overkill to you and most likely to almost everyone. BUT the thing is that once you 'group' the instrument into a Instrument Rack (that provides the Macro knobs) then the first device is selected by default when you select that track. So when you use instruments inside a rack then yes - by default it will map the touchstrips to the Rack Macro Controls -> I hope this is the answer you were looking for. So to get the best out of my script it is recommended to use Instrument Rack and choose the controls you need most -> you immediately get those available into the touchstrips. And if you want to change the ranges etc settings then you do it normally with Live's Macro Mapping mode.
I hope you enjoy the script and happy Jamming! :)

    Sorry to be pushy

Thanks your your reply that's all I needed to know for now. I'll get the script asap and test it!
Don't check your emails or this thread until the end of the vacation ;):D
