Does this script support isomorph pad modes for playin notes as on Push 2? If os its game changer for me and I should update my setup to latest sw-hw

Hi, firstly many thanks for your excellent work on this script - it's well worth the money just for the "SHIFT+B" fix imo! But there's plenty of other nice stuff in there too of course.
I'm not sure whether you'd rather hear about bugs here or on github, but it's just a minor one (which is carried over from the original NI script I think): if I go straight from "CONTROL" mode to "LEVEL" mode, the last parameter values shown on the fader LEDs in the "CONTROL" mode reappear (in the track colours) on any empty MIDI tracks. It doesn't obscure the white level LED lights, and I can avoid triggering it by going back to "LEVEL" mode via "AUX" mode; but obviously it would be great if it was an easy fix!

Hi Knth, Yes the script has multiple keypad layout modes, including two isomorphic layouts as well.

Hi Avantham, and thanks for the report. I will take a look and try to fix this issue for the next release - it should be easy to fix.

I’m currently traveling for business but I managed to think this for a while and this bug fix is great since it pushes me to do an actual update to the script. Some other improvements will be released at the same time as well. :)
    Thanks aventham!

FYI: the bug is now fixed but I need to do couple other cleanup things and then update the manual to include information on new improvements. But fix will be included in the next release. :)

Release 1.2 is now available and all existing customers should have received it already.

    Change Log:
    Release 1.2.0 - 7.12.2021
    - bug fix into touch strips with empty MIDI tracks
    - improved MainKnob usage for volume control
    Release 1.1.0 - 29.4.2021
    - added support to load items from Ableton's User Library
    - improved UserGuide instructions
    Release 1.0.0 - 9.4.2021
    - initial release

And link to the script is the same: https://gumroad.com/l/hxr-jam-11-r10

And I can personally now confirm that this works under BigSur (11.6.1) with new M1 Mac. :)

Hey Haxor, thanks for the update! I'm really starting to put to work your script now but I'd like to know a bit more about the LoadMode. Is there a way to customize which devices you can load and where to put them (and which button color give them) in the 8x8 pad grid? How Bout external vsts?
I guess you have to edit the UserPluginConf.py? But can you give us a couple examples explaining the syntax? Thanks.
I hope I can give some good feedback while using the script soon.

Hi Rifter! Did you take a look of the UserGuide and the Configuration section at the end? It tries to answer most of the questions you had. :)
    • it is actually 7x8 grid that can be used since the top row is reserved
    • you can decide the layout (eg which button loads what)
    • you can load external VST/AU plugins
    • you can also load items from Max4Live library and from Live's UserLibrary
    • yes - all this is done by editing the UserPluginConf.py file (I tried to keep this file as simple as possible)
    • the color is automatic depending on the category (live instrument, live midi effect, live audio effect, etc)
I will try to include some examples here later on - hope this helps you forward in the mean time.

    Edit: added some examples...
Basically each button has it's own slot inside the UserPluginConf.py file - or actually each button is there 4 times since the LoadMode supports 4 pages. Each slot contains simple string entry that describes what item it should load when pressed - and obviously this string has some 'rules' you need to know. The format for the string is following 'CAT/path/to/item'.
You can think these categories as the items in your Live's browser window (Instruments, Audio Effects, MIDI Effects etc).
    • INS = native Ableton Live instrument
    • MFX = native Ableton Live MIDI effect
    • SFX = native Ableton Live audio effect
    • VST = 3rd party VST plugin
    • AuU = 3rd party AU plugin
    • M4L = native / 3rd party Max4Live device (both instruments&effects)
    • USR = Ableton Live UserLibrary entry (this way you can load certain preset within the loaded item)
Below you can find couple different example - I hope this helps you to do it yourself.
    'INS/Analog', 'INS/Drum Synth/DS Kick'
    'MFX/Pitch', 'MFX/Note Length'
    'SFX/Reverb & Resonance/Reverb'
    'VST/Massive', 'VST/Battery'
    'M4L/Max Instrument/Bass', 'M4L/Max MIDI Effect/Instant Haus by Alexkid'
    'USR/Presets/Instruments/Instrument Rack/Komplete Kontrol VST.adg', 'USR/Presets/Audio Effects/Audio Effect Rack/HXR Comp.adg'

    It helps for sure!
I read the UserGuide but just 2 notes on how to write your own plugin list would be very useful. ES Where it defines the categories, in which folder the script can find the vst files, does it rely on the Ableton browser or not. Things that non-programmers can't give for granted.
Also I use another daw for production and I've got all my plugins setup for it not for Live, so it adds up to my confusion probably.

FYI: I just updated the previous post and added some examples there.

Basically this relies on the Ableton Live's Browser functionality - so the path configuration inside UserPluginConf.py should match to the structure inside your Live settings. And one important thing is that all the examples I've used assume that the OS language is English - if you are using other language then you need to change the paths to match what is visible in the Live browser.

I just created my first video of the HXR-JAM usage with Ableton Live 11. Sorry about the crappy song but the idea was just to improvise and show off the features of HXR-JAM and what one can do with it. Any feedback is more than welcome!

And in case you missed something then just go ahead and ask what happened and I will try to explain.
