[v1.5.0] MASCHINE MK3/MIKRO MK3 Ableton Live 11 MIDI Remote Script (Unofficial)

I know that feel very well. It happened to me in mid-studio sessions. I was installing Live 11 that day it was released, I was so excited.
I saw that the controller no longer worked. I made researches and found out the bad news I thought some days of what to do about this problem, was even thinking about a revert back to Live 10. Then I decided to do it myself since I saw in these forums that NI didn't have it prioritized for the scripts, but instead for that MacOS Big Sur compatibility issues...

I am sorry to tell you that this script does not work with MASCHINE JAM. It partially works with MASCHINE MK3 but not with JAM. Even if I had the JAM as a hardware, so I could develop the script for it, I don't have enough time to make other scripts.

I can feel your frustration - but I'm happy to say that the relief is coming. I've been just testing & documenting stuff today and I hope to get the release 1.0 ready within this week.

 

I have high sierra you think I can test your script and see how it goes? please man help me I need this maschine jam working with live 11 you know my frustration xD anyway if I can help some way just let me know cheers

This is the current situation as regards to v1.4.0 upcoming release.
The original planned release date is 22 April 2021, however, I am not sure if I will be able to finish with 2 open issues:
- Add fixed velocity feature
- Fix a problem when re-enabling note repeat does not retrigger notes that are continued to be held before re-enabling the note repeat function

The 27 closed issues contain a lot of features, I can say that this would be the biggest update yet.

This was just a quick heads up about the progress update.

Well your Version 1.30 works great already.
For me it's a vital precondition to use MMMK3 together with Ableton's DrumRacks, Toontrack's Drummer SW and MASCHINE as a VST within Live 11.
So 1.40 and the manual can only transform good things to splendid ones. I'm really looking forward to it.

I agree with Elton. And if you need a Mashine Jam script for Ableton Live 11, check the scripts from Isotonik Studios, they are pretty good.

 

Hey man, thanks a lot for the amazing work on this script - installed it and so far all is working great.

Just wanted to ask - what is the command to start recording in arrangement view? Every time I hit the record button, it will record into a clip. And when I try shift + record, nothing happens.

For Arrangement Recording, you have to press "RESTART + RECORD" button combination, (RESTART is the SHIFT button in this script, because the physical SHIFT button cannot be assigned to any CC value, same goes for the two tiny arrow left/right buttons.)
If that still doesn't work, I guess it will come as the new v1.4.0 release that will be released soon.

Hello,

The new upcoming release v1.4.0 will have a slight change in the installation guide, which, you will only have "Mikro_Mk3_Unofficial" script folder to copy+paste. Due to a lot of rework, the "_NativeInstruments" folder and all its code is now cleaned and deleted. This unofficial script no longer depends on utility code that were present in "_NativeInstruments" folder from v1.0.0 until v1.3.0 (including v.1.3.0).

It is worth noting that, due to updating Live 11 to 11.0.1 or 11.0.2 (or further updates), it is recommended to copy+paste the script folder to "User Library/Remote Scripts", instead of the usual "C:\ProgramData\Ableton\Live 11 Suite\Resources\MIDI Remote Scripts" for example, in order to preserve/keep custom MIDI Remote Scripts (including this one) in case you install Live updates.

I will update the guide for all the changes and possibly a decent manual, maybe will consider videos with explanations and tips for everything this script has to offer.

I appreciate your idea and contribution that you want to provide.
Momentarily, I have to organize some small things code-wise and in the repository itself and maybe to invite contributors like you.
I've had a limited time these last weeks, unfortunately. I am thinking of making a new script from scratch to use OSC instead of MIDI MODE and it's limitations. I will let you know as soon as possible for this collaboration. I am very thankful!
I hope this project get serious in the future and we setup a decent environment and workflow in order to provide MIKRO MK3 + Live 11 enthusiasts many useful features!

I've sent you my Discord with a dm. To be honest it would be a great fun project to work on for me. As far as I know, Maschine doesn't support OSC directly, though there is this project written in Rust for linux that creates an OSC server;

I am very happy to announce the new version of Unofficial MASCHINE MIKRO MK3 Ableton Live 11 MIDI Remote Script.

This is a big update and everything is in detail under CHANGELOG.md.
There is a new file "INSTALLATION.md", which separates the guides from "USAGE.md".

Also, this thread's first (main) post is reworked and with added photos featuring the main modes of the script as of v1.4.0 update (latest as of 05-May-2021), so please check it out

Due to many code reworks this unofficial script no longer has any dependency from "_NativeInstruments" folder (containing some utility code), thus, starting from v1.4.0 and future versions, you will only need to copy/paste "Mikro_Mk3_Unofficial" folder. For the updated guide of installation, please refer to "INSTALLATION.md" inside the zip.

Soon I will work on the manual and video tutorials and tips, in order to provide as much information about the usage and workflow improvements.

You've mentioned elsewhere in this thread that your scripts have 'partial compatibility' with Maschine MK3 - can you explain a bit about how much compatibility it has with MMK3 and what alterations I might need to make to get it working with my MMK3?
