:djsi: I'd like to find some other DJ's in the city that also use FS2.

Been using FS since the first LINUX version 1.0

Pretty sure I was the first to get FS2 going in vancouver (got Long & McQuade's demo copy before there were any for sale... just in time to play my new years eve gig).

Let me know if you're giging with it.

Victory Riel - That has a nice ring to it

Yes, that would be me I guess... Victory Riel, although in the end it felt more like a defeat at the hands of the city.

I'm also undernet.* Riel another crushing blow from the city. There was "house Riel" from the house on Seymore and Nelson (shut down)... there seems to be a trend here...

Now I'm BIG DADDY, Basement DJ Riel... they can't shut that down! :)

    need help?

Let me know what you think, are you on mac or PC - I got it running on my mac no prob, but not on my PC.

    what gig friday?

I'm doing visuals at enter/exit at the cultch this week... trying get them to let me play the afterparty.

It'd be the first good set, I tried one on NYE at my penthouse party... but I had bad ram in my mac, so I ended up using FS1.5 on my PC instead - frustrating, but still had a good set and a great time.

I have been running FS from the early days as well and just got my FS2 on FEB 14th & bloody love the thing
play out with it all the time plus gig with a band as a turntablist regularly .
..just played the workless party on the weekend in VAN. and it worked great pluss done some recording in a studio the week before down in the city (being able to use a usb jumpdrive was amazing in the studio,u can play right off one)
sounds way better than FS1 some times some wierd latency issues with scratching but have had no real issuse but that.
I gig up here in whistler and down in the city with the band often .

    Hey Jan

I don't do that much gigging anymore, mostly house parties and friends places...
I haven't been able to get it going on my PC at all... My Ibook runs it though, so I've been playing with that, instead of my stronger R40 PC laptop.

I used it on NYE at a wicked party I did, it went great, but I did notice a "pop" every now and then that was definately a digital hickup of sorts.

I've played with the record features, but I'm most interested in the broadcast potencial, I'm liking the idea of a weekly radio show. :thumb:

    Playing

I used to primarilly play house music, but since final scratch, I've gotten a much wider selection of music and dip into hiphop, 80's, techno, breaks....

Mostly what I listen to / play now a days are mashups. I'm totally hooked on mashups.

I've got a long set here if you want - right click and save it though.. it's pretty big.

    Slow Nerve Action

Maybe I'll come down to the fairview this weekend and check you out, it's not to far from my place (east van).

It sounds funky, I liked your site.... and I gotta say, I like the idea of being a "turntablist" for a band.

Do you use the "loop pool" funtionality of FS2... I think it's pretty dope, but I havent' really got past their sample loops and done my own... other than vocal stuff captured through the mic and then scratched... (I love that action)
