    Hello everyone!

    Question 1
Does anyone on here know how long it takes to receive the Traktor Pro 2 update for Traktor Kontrol s4? I've been waiting for that special email for almost 2 days now and nothing popped up in my inbox/spam folder.

    Questions 2
Is the volume meter suppose to hit the red when i'm making mixes with my headphones? Just wondering if that's good or bad because I usually have the volume of the "Cue Vol" at halfway, the volume fader at the first or second line, and the gain at 0.0 DB,

    Question 3
Is there an on/off button for the mic? I know there's a gain knob on the back and a mic volume knob in the front, but no on/off button

    Questions 4
Can I install the s4 program on 3 computers? Let's say I installed it on two machines and decided to unistall it and put it on another computer. Is that possible?

I appreciate you guys for taking the time to read all of this! Thank you! :D

It varies. Give it another couple of days then open up a ticket with registration support.

Not sure which 'volume meters' you are talking about. Can you be a little more specific.

    There is no on/off button.

You may only have traktor install on 2 machines at a time. If you want to move it to another computer uninstall it first off one machine and run service centre afterwards which will register that you have removed it. Then you can install on the next one.

The volume meter (actually called a VU meter, btw) should NEVER hit the red, EVER. Yes, your equipment might be designed to cope with it without clipping, but that doesn't mean you should do it. All the VU meters are for the channel/master output and have nothing to do with the cue volume.

When you say that the volume fader is at the first or second line, do you mean at the top or the bottom of the channel fader?

It's also known as a peak meter. On digital equipment, the audio should never go beyond 0db - which is the maximum level and usually indicated by "red" lights - because doing so will cause nasty distortion.

I say nasty because in the analog world, some distortion "warms" the sound. In the digital world this distortion misrepresents the original sound and adds nothing desirable to the sound.

Oh nevermind lol I got the e-voucher after a couple of hours.
it's the second line at the bottom of the channel fader and thanks for the info about the maximum number of installs

Woah. Turn everything else down a bit, so you can take the faders all the way to the top without hitting the redline or blowing your eardrums. You haven't turned all the gains to the max, have you? :S

So you're saying I should turn down the volume on the cue vol and turn up the volume fader?
    ---
And no, I have turned the gain all the way up lol. I always leave it at -2.5DB or something, but I don't know if I should leave it like that

What are your recommended settings for everything?

Cue volume is the volume for your headphones. Leave it at 0 dB in the software, use the knob on the front to control that. It has nothing to do with the volume faders, they control how much that channel puts into the master output.
