    Hello Everyone,

I have been trying like mad to get this new shiny piece of equipment to work. (VCI-100)

    First Problem:
The Mac install was not on the Traktor LE disc.
I had to wait a week, but the official response from a native rep was that this was a manufacturing defect. Technical assistance helped me out and allowed me to download the install from them.

    Second Problem:
I after I installed the Traktor LE App, I wasn't able to run my VCI-100.
    Problem is this:
Navigate to Preferences->Midi controller-> Find the Vestax VCI-100 entry. The checkbox to activate it wont mark the hardware as active. (Apparently this was a MAC ONLY problem.) I tried reproducing this on my friend's WIN machine and it did worked fine. I ran midi diagnostics and the communication between the vestax and my mac works fine. Traktor wont activate my midi controller even though it shows up correctly. In addition, Traktor LE isn't officially supported by the help line. Somebody please help, I cant get this thing to work. :(

I was hoping to use the Traktor LE bundle as my testbed to see if I want to buy the whole version. Traktor LE isn't making me very confident even though the service reps are saying all these problems will be solved if I upgrade. Not a very convincing argument. :(

    Please help! :S :D :) ;)

    Which reps specifically say this?
Its not an argument you should be swayed by either at this point. Right now I'm not aware of any immediately available fix for the VCI and I'm beginning to think we are not at all close to a solution too. :S

There is a rather definitive way to figure out whether the full version works with the VCI on your computer: Download and install the 3.2 demo.

    yeah serious issues exist

my traktor macbook pro 17" 10.4.9 crashes if i so much as tweek a usb plug. its very sketchy software; the most flaky user experiencei have had with software. If i hadn't of paid for it i would have gone elsewhere. As it is, i am still looking for alternatives.

After on of the most tedious installations i have ever experienced, I finally managed to get the audio routing through my imic using the agregated device by then sometimes it works and some times it doesn't. Total flake. Sometimes a re-start solves it and some times it doesn't. I could not vouch for it and never consider taking it out live.

I also brought the VCi 100 and managed to figure out how to make it work by decoding several posts and peice ing the fact together that you have to search for a midi file an dimport it into the trackor software via the midi prefs.

It is such an unfriendly user experience. No on eform trackor makes a sensible guide and none of the set up is step by step. Its so confusing.

Last week end i just gave up. I might try again this weekend but after plugging and re routing restarting traktor and rebooting the mac coutnless times i gave in. http://www.native-instruments.com/forum_us/images/ni_smilies/sad.gif

Also - why does NI give you so many f---ing log-ins? How many do we need to use the software/service/forum - er - one? no?
maybe some one can teach NI how to make the products they sell work for humans not driods. Boo hiss.
