Where can I get the Tracktor Pro manual for the VCI 100. The NI website VCI product support says its available and I am thinking of upgrading from LE. Wanted to know where to get it.

Dude there is no Traktor Manual for the VCI ?

If you mean the manual for Traktor Pro that is only available to download after the product has been purchased.

Where on the website does it say there is a manual mate ?

I was looking at the recommended controllers for Traktor Pro in the products section. When you scroll down to the VCI 100 there is a tab saying Traktor ready. When you click on this it says at the bottom "PDF manual available for Traktor Pro and Traktor 3"

I have heard that Traktor Pro does not fully work with VCI 100 and its better suited for LE. Unless of course you update to the DJ Tech TOols overlays and TKS which I dont want to do. Unless you advise it is a good idea.

Ideally i want to buy the VCI 100 and update to Traktor Pro and just use the standard vestax or NI TKS files and the manual seemed a good place to start.

Perhaps you can help. Can you confirm what will work and what doesnt with the standard TKS file and whether DJ Tech tools is a good idea.

    Thanks Richard

I really can't remember what was working and what not with the original .TSI file of TPro but i remember that i could not work with it as i would when using Traktor LE.
Thats why I made my own .tsi (As many other users did with there own)
Updating the firmware to 1.3 with the DjTechTools kit is a very good idea (I have done that) and that doesn't mean you have to use the DjTT .tsi if you don't want to.

Hmm i still cant see where it says Traktor manual. I can see a Vestax PDF on the vestax page..

First off let bust a few misconceptions. Dunno who told you that the VCI worked better with LE because thats just plain wrong. The VCI works great with LE and perfect with PRO. I should know i use a VCI 100 and its an excellent contoller for PRO.

The Vestax TSI is indeed rubbish. But only half rubbish, i tweaked it and made it my own. You can so this easily
There are 100s of TSIs on the DJTTs site but you do not need to use one of the Official Ean Golden TSIs . I have never used one, i dont like the layout. My TSI is very simple so i dont need all that the DJTTs TSI offers.

You can try as many as you like until you find one you like and when you get into it you can tailor the TSI to your needs.

I started with a totally blank table and made my own but i kinda like making TSIs (sad i know).

Buy the VCI and Pro and i promise you wont regret it. They are made for each other.

Oh and remember its TSI for Traktor PRO and TKS for Traktor 3 (good to know so there is no confusion).

plug and play configuration files for TRAKTOR PRO and TRAKTOR 3 are available for download
have been tested with TRAKTOR PRO and TRAKTOR 3
PDF manual for use with TRAKTOR PRO and TRAKTOR 3 is available

Ah i see. Yeah that actually means Traktor manuals. It is a bit misleading though.

Have fun with the VCI. The Audio 4 is a great soundcard. Youve bought well.

Yeah you need PRO to record, good to see you have done your research.

Yeah the VCI-100 and TPro work really really well together. I kind of did the opposite to Karlos - took the DJTT mappings, worked it out, then stripped out the stuff I didn't want, added a Korg Nanopad - perfect!

it should have the 1.2 firmware, i think it should have a green sticker on the back

You can tell by a simple step. When ON, push at the same time the 2 buttons named VINYL, if the the jogwheels turn off and stop working then you have 1.2, if not you should go to your Vestax Dealer to update it or get the kit from DJTT.

I must say I agree with Karlos, I like making .tsi files :) when i got the hand on the midi stuff i did my own (now with 4 deck support, Hot Cue mode and more control than i would ever use :) just because i can )

    Thanks Guys

I have been playing with LE for a bit and it is quite limited. So i think i need to update to pro asap. Especially so i can work on my own midding mappings.

One think I did notice was the sync button. Now i must say i am not a fan of sync, but it is useful for one main reason. If you have two tracks running together and you want to speed them both up. With sync lock on this is possible.

LE however does not seem to sync lock ! When you press the button it syncs the tempo and phase but when you let go it releases. I am assuming PRO especially with multiple decks has sync lock ?

Yes - as long as the tracks you are mixing have beatgrids.
