Having battled with Traktor's mapping interface and the VCI-400 I made this to make life a bit easier.

It shows the midi values for each control over a bitmap of the unit, this saves you having to cross reference between the diagram and value table in the manual, it has saved me hours, hopefully some other poor souls will benefit.

Let me know if you find any errors or have suggestions.

thanks for this! i'm just starting out with midi customization, and this will be very handy.

i hope you won't mind if i hijack this thread with a noobish question, but i came across your mapping aid when searching for the answer to this question -

is it possible to map the rubber pads underneath each jog to perform different functions depending on whether deck a or C // B or D is selected?

in the Vestax original mapping, the 2 outermost rubber pads have nothing mapped to them, so I have mapped Tempo bend + /- . However, I can only get them mapped to decks [only A + B] or [A+C] + [B+D] at the same time :(

how do i distinguish the midi messages to these rubber pads when that deck selector switch is flicked?

hope you understood that ... any tips welcomed.
truly sorry if i have asked this in the wrong area too. i suspect i did...

sorry, i have just seen your question.

The rubber pads are not affected by the "deck select" switch

the "mode" switch (at the front of the unit) does change the midi values of the pads. You could use one position for deck A and one for C, and the equivalent on the other side

Another thing to look at is the "Play/Pause (Deck Common)" modifier, you can use these to do different things depending on if a specific deck is playing

let me know how you get on?

thanks for the reply. don't really want to move the mode each time.

i'll look into the Play/Pause modifier, but am not sure exactly what that is...! lets hope i can learn.

Yes I'm necrobumping a 7 year old thread; just wondering if anyone has the mapping aid that cjkcjk linked above? It's long gone from the link above unfortunately but I could really use it ;)
