I'm looking forward to the release of the vestax vcm400 later this year - it looks like its been designed specifically with TP in mind. I have one question though as regards this and other controllers when using them to control 4 dex.

Lets say I have 2 tracks playing on decks a & b and I want mix a track in on deck c whilst mixing out the track playing on deck a. Like a lot of djs who play house I mostly have the bass cut on the track coming in and then at a certain point I 'swap' the basses - ie in this instance I would cut the bass on the track in deck a and at the same time bring in the bass on the track playing in deck c.

However as these 2 decks would be 'sharing' the same physical controls I dont see how I could do this in the normal quick fashion that I would if they had their own controls. The only way I see this working is that if you want to mix more than 2 decks then you must always mix opposites ie a&d or b&c - is this correct or am I missing something?

If I'm right then I really wish someone would make a decent controller with 4 channels - vcm600 is not ideal (looks like its for ableton) and the xone 3D & 4D series are expensive and seem to have lots of issues.

Native instruments - you would probably sell such a controller by the bucket load if you designed a decent one, specifically for TP.

I guess you are completely right. The only additional thing I thought of was the "Duplicate deck" command as it allows you to move the track, as it plays out, to an other deck what might be helpful to arrange tracks in a way so that you always find a free "opposite side" deck.
(If "duplicate" only would work in TSP as to my experience it worked fine in Traktor 3 but no longer so in TSP)

To have 4 completely independent Deck controls for EQ, Vol, Key and Filter for me is mandatory too (thats why I have these controls on the BCR2000)
