I’m confused about something. I have been trying to make an envelope velocity sensitive. I spent a fair amount of time mucking around until is dawned on me I don’t know what in the hell that is.

I was thinking like this, sorry for my stupidly over simplistic way of thing.

A gate signal arrives at the input. It has voice assignments, in the case of polyphony, so the input needs to be section off per voice in the ensemble. Since these are assign 1-N I thought I would plot them according to some curve in that order, sensitivity being how much they gravitate to the curve. So any series of gate events are going to be cycled on this curve, simultaneous events happen 1_N or scaled in which case they will be plotted in a linear fashion.

Am I completely off on my thinking here?

Now here is another problem. My Motif ES has a thing that uses velocity for the envelopes time. It seems to me that this affects that value of the ADSR time values, but when I did what I can to implement that it doesn’t seem to behave like I expected it to but the env. display seem to respond the way I thought is should.

Needless to say I am confused. Can anyone clear this up for me or rather point me in a direction of a good explanation so I can figure it out.
