    hi there

I'm trying to modulate the gain of a (group insert) eq FX by velocity. Very simple task.

I just do it just the same way as it is working with the other filters:
-insert eq and adjust the settings
    -"add modulation"
    - chose velocity
-chose "gain" or "gain1" respectively as destination

    ready.

I think that a bit of modulation is there but not like in a range of 10db which I want to happen.
If I choose a midi cc as source there's also only a small range of modulation available.

    can someone help?

    thank you! and best wishes

    uli

Could you post a screen shot of the settings? I could help you out then.

Have you turned up the knob you are trying to modulate to the maximum you want it to be? Certainly the envelope parameters are modulated using your setting as maximum.

    Hello and thanks.

    I've uploaded a picture now.

Are you sure? I just checked and found it does not behave this way. Here the modulator seems to be added. Manual search showed to be tedious... ;)

I'm sure about the envelope parameters. Try manually turning the gain1 knob to maximum. Don't expect the knob to turn when you send your cc messages.

An easier way to do this would be like this:

Please make sure you only use -12 db, otherwise, when you put your controller in the max value position, you'll end up EQ'ing the samples needlessly. Don't use such a narrow band either, that will make the effect too harsh, unless that is what you want. You should also delete the low pass filter, as in the way it is set up here, you do not need it.

    Hope this helps.

    hello

the kind of modulation I intend is an artificial, synthetic one, so the filter settings are intentional... also the LPF is disabled in the screenshot but part of the game.

anyway I thank you both and look into it further now

Right, but if you set it up the way I have it set up, you will basically be doing a low pass filter when the modwheel is at 0 and then "EQ'ing" as you move it up, with the "LP" turned off at the top.

Could you upload just the patch file to the forum? I don't need any samples.
