    Markus,
After installation of version 1.1.2 (over 1.1.0R2) (for Windows XP) , I can't activate anymore (saying my hardware profile doesn't match anymore) and AP¨doesn't find the libraries (in the demomode) (without notifying me of that, just neither the presets nor the model icons don't respond to my mousecliks) .......
PS1: at start up, it says: can't load the default configuration.
PS2: in regedit, the location under contentDir, is the right location ......
    Kind regards
    Luc (BE)

    Hi Luc,

this seems very weird since you were already up and running with 1.1.1, right?

in any case I just deleted all your previous AP registrations. so re-activating should work now.

as for the other problem please send me as much info as possible to how your previous install looked.

    best,
    Markus

No Markus, I reinstalled the original version and afterwards upgraded to version 1.1.0 R2, and that after experiencing the saving problem of the acoustic output settings. So I went from 1.1.0R2 to 1.1.2.
I just finished deinstalling 1.1.2 on both my laptop and desktop, just to try what it does after upgrading the original version to 1.1.2 ... should that work? Or have i to go to an intermittent version as 1.1.0R2 first?
    Kind regards
    Luc (BE)

    Hi Luc,

original version to 1.1.2 will work! as long as you can start and find your content well with the original version that is.

    Hello Markus,

I reinstalled first the original version, it found the content and all buttons worked. registration and activation went fine. Then I installed version 1.1.2. Reactivation worked fine. But then the problem of not finding the content reappeared ... I join a screen capture of the 'version window' and the 'error' window.
PS the coontentdir field in the registry points to the wright location ......
    Kind regards
    Luc

    Hi,

I'm not sure how important it is, but you might want to remove/blur your serial number in your picture of the 'version window.'

    Hi Luc,

please check the content of the following folder:

    AP library/Default

there should be a AP_def.nkm in there (=default config) dated 23/11/06.

    Hello Markus,

On the annexed screencature you can see all the AP_def.* files found on my laptop after installing version 1.0 followed by verson 1.1.2. Apparently the version that should be dated 23/11/06 is not installed and the original version of 2005 keeps to be installed. Note that the libray is installed om my second HD (D:), the program file being installed on the system HD (C:)
PS: The search function in the registry couldn't find any AP_def.nkm file
    Kindly,
    Luc

    Hi Luc,

yes, it looks like no library updates were installed with 1.1.2. man, I thought that this works now that we took out the library option and made this mandatory.

please try by replacing the file on your D: drive with the one in the attached zip file. most probably you will then not be able to load pianos so I also attached the new Preset patches for you to try.

note that you can forget about the NKM file on your C: drive. you can delete it since it is not used!

    Markus

    Hi Markus Krieg,

the same problem over here (installation of version 1.1.2 over 1.1.0R2, for Windows XP; message "can't load the default configuration").

I've tried out your zip-files, and now at least the message "can't load the default configuration" has disappeared. AP seems to load a piano when I click on one of the four piano-icons, but still there is no sound (although under Cb4 Midi is received - blue light flashes up - it doesn't play the sound).
The pull-down menu for the factory-settings doesn't work, too: Although it shows "Bechstein Bach" etc, it doesn't load by clicking on it.

    Hi Migro,

did you also replace the other patches in Default with the ones below? the old factory patches will not load any longer in the latest version. patches that you saved before should however still work.

did you install the library in its default location or on another drive?

    Hi Markus,

I've used all the 5 zips you've linked above and replaced the older versions in the AP-library-default.

The library is on my drive D: in the NI-folder (NI sample libraries); I haven't changed that after the first installation of AP. The program and the VSTi-folder is on drive C: - but this has been no problem in the previous AP-version 1.1.0R2 (and is still no problem for the other NI-VSTi like EP, Kontakt2 or Bat3).

By the way, I've discovered that in the AP-default folder the following two files are considered as "Outlook"-files (by WinXP), probably because of their suffix "cfg":

    - outputs_sta.cfg
    - outputs_vst.cfg

I've relinked that manually back to AP, but it has no effect, too.

Thanks for your quick replies and your help,
    migro

    Hi Migro,

are the default patches now working for you, i.e. the piano bitmaps on the left in AP?

btw, the Default folder in the application folder is not that important like the cfg files.

the problem is more in the Default folder inside your AP library path.

    Markus

    Hello Markus,

Thanks for the reply. I downloaded those 5 NKM/NKI files and replaced the old ones by them.
I experience about the same result as Migro. (In standalone mode - I didn't yet try this reinstallation under VST (Cubase4) or Kontakt2). Notice that my library is on a D-drive, not the defaullt C-drive.
    That means:
    1. When I open AP and immediately after that, click one of the 4 piano icons, they get loaded - and I get soud for each of them.
    2. If - following 1 - I click the presets, no one of the presets opens, but - strange enough - the loaded piano under 1 gets cleared , ands if I then reopen that 'icon' piano, it loads - but I don't get any sound anymore just as Migro ...
    3. In any case, after loading an 'icon' piano, I get an error message, saying that one sample has not been found: AkoustikPiano_info.nkx (see screencapture in attachment).
    4. The preset list seems to be the very original preset list, for instance ? I miss e.g. Phil's and Oliviers' overtunes presets.
A guess: those results makes me think that the corresponding nki files under library/presets also have to be replaced???
    Kind regards,
    Luc

    Hi Luc,

most of this starts to make sense for me know ;-)

yes, you are missing all library updates from 1.1.2! the new presets are missing and the new nkx in the library root is also missing. the other problem is most likely a side effect from the above.

so the question remains: why is the library not installed for at least three people on PC already? I am still trying to get the pattern. internal test here went fine.

    Hi Markus,

It's almost the same for me as Snyer/Luc wrote in his last mail:

If I click on the Piano bitmaps on the left right after the start, I get the sound. I even can change the different Pianos there and it works. BUT: when I tried to load a preset, it doesn't load - and AFTER that: clicking on the Piano bitmaps on the left doesn't work properly, anymore:
AP still shows the sample-loading progress, so I guess that they are loaded - but strangely I can't hear a sound anymore when I play via Midi (this is true for both standalone and VSTi-versions). As I mentioned earlier, Midi "flashes blue" under Cubase 4, so Midi is received - but it in some way it doesn't "trigger" the sound (samples?) in AP.

So I can confirm the description of Snyer/Luc in most parts: (1) is true for me (2) is true for me, too. (3) is not true for me: I don't get an error message. (4) is true for me, again.

    Kind regards,
    migro

    Hi all,

okay, give me one more info please.

do you have entries named ContentDir in the following places and if yes what are these and do they match your library location?

fire up Regedit via Start-Run first and then navigate through the tree.

    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Native Instruments\AkoustikPiano

    * HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments\AkoustikPiano

    Hi Markus,

Here are the results of the German jury ( :))

    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Native Instruments\AkoustikPiano
=> ContentDir is set to the right directory on my PC: D:\Native Instruments\Sample Libraries\Akoustik Piano Library

    * HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments\AkoustikPiano
=> ContentDir is set to the right directory on my PC; btw, there is also mentioned "ContentVersion = 1.1"

    I hope it helps.

    Greetings
    migro
