    Hello all
Having just purchased the lovely new TPro I am about to plunge yet more funds into a new controller surface. Currently my favourite is the VCM-600. Although it is designed with Live in mind I am assuming it can be configured to work with TPro.
Before I commit, can anyone tell me if they have experience of this piece of kit and if so, can it be configured to work with TPro?

Saving for one simply because I have to own all the VCI's and VCM's. But it is advertised as a MIDI device and as such can be configured to run TPro.

Thanks for the info. It sure looks like a nice piece of kit. Finally get to work four decks with just one piece of equipment.

Good luck - feels like the 600 will never be released.....they have the ship date as December now, so it will be luck if it actually gets out prior to the end of the year.....

Looks like a nice piece for Ableton - but hey, I guess you could program it to work with traktor - if you don't need jog wheels for anything...

Hopefully worth the wait. Never got into scratching so no need for jog wheels. Been using a BCD2000 and a Hercules DJ Console but been looking for the all in one solution. Nice pressy for Christmas!

I was looking at HTFR.com this morning and it appears that they may have them in stock....too expensive to purchase in the US, a hundred or so more than you will pay here when it comes out...but if you really want it that bad...maybe worth the extra money to be one of the first to have it : )

I've been checking out this VCM-600 for a while now and there's a lot of anticipation for it's release which has been delayed a few times.

From what I've found out these units are all comming in on the same boat and they'll be delivered to all the big shops at the same time. There's a few shops like HTFR that claim to have the VCM-600 (and the Korg KeyNano) in stock, but give them a call and they don't even have a clue when these units will arrive. There just trying to get pre-order sales in via their websites.

It does look amazing, but I've noticed that the price has gone right up. It used to be advertised at around £350 but is now £599! I've got the VCM-100 and it is built like a tank. Hopefully the VCM-600 will be worth the money, build wise, but I hope some kind of case will be available for it cos there's a lot of buttons on it that could get damaged in transit.

aye the controller in the clip below looks more real than the above one which could be a computer render. The bottom one just simply has some rotary controls moved from the top of the buttons on each channel down to just above the faders in each channel. thats all i can spot. But it still has the same amount of controls.

actually..im wrong it also has missing buttons down each side of the faders..i think im going blind :p

I was wondering exactly the same thing. www.thomann.de has the one on the second image in their catalogue, but google image search gives images with different button layouts.

    http://www.thomann.de/gb/prod_bdb_AR_212113.html?image=2

Is the first one some initial demo version by factory? What buttons have been removed?

Any ideas what buttons are determined to control headphone cue on VCM-600?

You are correct. Vestax showed a prototype at NAMM 2008, and then at a show (I think in Germany) later in the year they showed a revision of the prototype that would be the final version. The Vestax site has info on the final version.

The controller is perfect for ableton, all the knobs and buttons are even labeled with ableton features.

I would love to see movie with some digital dj guru demonstrating it - like Sasha or Ritchie Hawtin playing around with it. Just to see how creative one could be on the controller.

AWESOME picture. So - he has an A & H 3d as well as the VCM-600. That's mad control over Ableton, for sure!

He has two computers there running Ableton - I wonder if one of those is a back-up or if he is actually using both of them.....pretty crazy stuff....

notice he's got his USB & firewire connectors gaffa taped in.

It's about time somebody developed a pro musician/DJ lappy with some sort of latching/locking mechanism on these ports.

(.....runs off to patent his idea!)

    elefanc,

thanks for urls, they were helpful
I read last 5 pages and the dilemma for most of guys is the same as mine - should i spend more and get zero8 with a lot more?

In US the price of zero8 is quite acceptable already http://www.pssl.com/Search?q=zero8&x=0&y=0&by=s

Zero8 has soundcard and built in effects, and 2 extra channels compared to vestax vcm-600.
