Ability to display the contents of more than one pattern in the piano roll.
(FL Studio has this feature, called Ghost Notes)

For example, when selecting multiple patterns their content could be displayed with lighter colors, while the content of currently active pattern stays the same.

    Would make melodic/harmonic work easier

I fully agree with this feature request. The workaround I use (which isn't ideal, but it works) is to copy MIDI events from one pattern into another , then zero-out the velocity on those MIDI notes. You then get 'ghost' notes that you can use for building chords, harmonics and melodies.

    Oooh that's clever ^^
Nice workaround, but if this feature is implementend, I would make more than bass/beats in Maschine

Super Idea, this would work the way most text ediors allow you to have two files open, or different parts of the same file visible on the screen at the same time. In fact I am surprised Ableton doesn't allow this either, given how relatively simple it would be to implement.

    Ping .

Just to say If NI could implemented this interface so that you could see more than one aspect of the same group, either in piano roll, or in pattern mode, this would save a lot of time, it would dramaticaly improve work flow.

Add to this the 'link' as adopted by so many other music creation softwares and Maschine would be transformed into quite a different beast.

    Please acknowledge this NI.

Ok so there's a work around, but what happens when you want to remove those 'ghost notes', how would you select and remove only those notes? It would be useful if those notes could be a different color. Also i wonder if there isn't the tiniest compuational overhead transmitting midi with zero velocity. You might not hear those notes but that's not to say Maschine isn't responding at it normally would for any midi note.

    Better solution required.

Easy, where you select the piano roll, you would have another piano roll for comparison mode. In that mode, the current sound would appear, so that any other sound you selected would be for visual comparison only. That said play back of just those two sounds would be nice too.

The one feature that I do love about FL Studio is the ghost notes. NI makes it easy for those of us who don't play keys but it would be even better if we had ghost notes in the piano roll. That way we could easily know what was played in a prior scene. At min we should be able to see the ghost notes within the same pattern or group.

FL Studio has Ghost Notes for ages now...
    Recently Ableton Live 10 introduced Multi-Clip ...
and now Propellerheads Reason also added Multi-Lane View/Edit.

This feature is becoming a staple in production software.

One ideas is to allow users the ability to select the sound from the group in which they would like to see the ghost notes for. Much like when selecting a sidechain input

Just how old is this thread now? Come on NI give the people what they need.
Whilst you're at it, i'd love to see the same level of tools for midi, as you have for audio.

For example a midi version of 'warp markers' would be simple enough to implement.

I came to see if anyone has asked for this and if not I was going to make a post but....... I see this was originally asked in 2016!! and it still hasn't happened!

Is this hard that hard to implement?
