Hi. Ever since I bought vintage organs, which is great, whenever I start up ableton live it says 'creating caches' and does it for minutes. I'm on a macbook pro with 4 GB or RAM so there shouldn't be a problem there and my 500GB of memory is nowhere near half full.

Could this product be causing all this slowness to my DAW?

Thanks in advance for any offers of help.

    Aidan.

I've never heard of this "creating caches" issue before (although I'm not an Ableton Live user). Have you searched the Ableton forums for references to this?

    Hmm...have I?

No I haven't been that thorough yet. I thought that if other plug-ins didn't cause this problem of slowing down then it must be an NI thing. To be honest I get lots of issues with my POD XT or ableton or other stuff and in the end they have you spinning from one to the other as they all blame each other -- "it's a mac issue" ,...."it's an ableton issue" ,...."it's and NI issue".

I have no idea how to work out whose it is but I will go and look for that issue in that forum. Good point. Just too busy and tired to think!

Thanks. actually I just checked and there's not a tittle about it really I can see. thanks though.
