I try to use the sp-1200 lo pass mode and i don't really notice my samples sounding lo-fi. Anything i forgot to do besides using the vintage button?

Thanks. That worked wonders. Now I have to go back in my crates and rerecord all my breaks at 45 rpm and do some more lo fi sounds in battery.

    Peace

It would be convenient to have the 45 - 33RPM downsample effect built in to Battery so you didn't have to manually resample existing kits.

What I do is take a sample, speed it up in Reaper by 1.458 with pitch preservation disabled (to simulate a 12" record playing on Technics SL-1200 with 45 mode engaged and the pitch slider maxed out at 8% -- this is approximately 6.53 semitones), load the sample in Battery then tune the cell down 6.53 semitones. You can read about my experiment here; audio examples included.

    wow, awesome find.

when I get a better turntable I will do that. Right now I have an awful ION with a shure m97xe and the e-mu 1616m to record it. When it craps out, i wil get a either a use stanton or 1200.

For anyone who's interested, I created a mini-tutorial on how I use Battery's Vintage mode. Includes screenshots and audio examples.
