When I sample from vinyl the sound is so quiet for some reason.

I have to Normalize it which makes it loud enough but then it can sound scratchy and the quality is not as good.

When I listen to the vinyl, I have to turn the volume nob all the way up to hear it properly.

I have the Audio Technica AT-LP60.

Have you switched build in pre amp to line signal level?

    Yes I have.

It's weird because when the volume is maxed it sounds normal.

    Hmm

    It is very low.

When I normalize it, then it's the right volume, but then it isn't good quality.

And yor audio 6 is also set to line and what about the gain knob, it would be strange if gain is already set to max.

I mean the input of your audio interface and next to the plugs is normally a gain knob. And also normally at least an over led wich indicates that the level is too high. So increase gain untill the over led is blinking and then turn gain slowly down untill the led is not blinking anymore.

    Uwe

P.S. Top panel green led´s show signal and turn red if the level is too high, but what i said applies anyway

My mk3 only has a knob for mic gain not input

Not sure about the specs of mk3 card
But I’m pretty sure it’s a line input not phono which needs a power boost a bit like a condenser mic with phantom 48 power .
The mpc REN had a switch to go from line to phono , I’m thinking you need a turntable pre amp to boost the signal

Definitely sounds like the signal coming from the turntable needs to be amplified in some way. Would be helpful to get a list of the exact equipment in your sampling chain and what plugs into what. I have that Audio Technica AT-LP60 and that's what I use as well, and that turntable only has RCA plugs out, and the Maschine only has 1/4" plugs in, so somewhere along the way you have something in between those devices, and you haven't mentioned what that is.

It outputs up to 150 mV if preamp is enabled so normal RCA level - it's a build in audio technica pre. But hasn't mk3 not a driver where you can set those things like input sensitivity? Would be absolutely strange if something like this is missing on mk3.

Ok. So you have the LP60 set to Line level, the RCA plugs running into a 1/4 adapter, which are then plugged into the Line Inputs on the back of the MK3, and when you sample the vinyl it comes through really soft until you normalize it. Honestly, I think that's about all you can do with your current gear. If it's too quiet for you, I think you'll need to add more amplification in your chain between the turntable and the Maschine. I have my LP60 plugged into a Peavey PV6 mixer which I use to amplify the signal before I send it to Maschine's line inputs, and I get plenty of signal that way.

you could use another phono preamp with more output power or an line amplifier

everything/anything going into the LINE Inputs on the MK3 is too quiet. i can't believe how low the signal is recording (iPad/iPod) from the inputs of the MK3 into Ableton. he/we shouldn't have to normalize after recording or buy a separate amp to go between them.
