Vinyl simulation VST?

Not directly Maschine related but i'm wondering if anyone can help. I usually use vinyl samples in my music and tend to create a drum loop whilst playing old records on my turntable in the background to listen for samples that compliment the beat. I love just lifting and dropping the needle to find snippets and like the freedom of that. I have a contest this weekend where i'll be provided with a USB stick full of MP3s which I then have to use to compose my own track. I wondered if there's a VST or app out there that allows me to mimic the above process, ie. a virtual turntable that you can load up an mp3 on and use the mouse to drop on certain parts of the track?

The Izotope vinyl plug-in doesn't do needle dropping like a turntable I'm afraid.

From their site "Vinyl is a plug-in that lets you simulate the dust, scratches, and warp of a worn record and the electrical and mechanical noise of the turntable it’s on."

Thanks for the replies. Yes, just to clarify, I don't want to simulate the sound of vinyl.

No, you're looking more for something like Deckadance, I think. There may be other cheaper/free alternatives too (try searching KVR).

Why not use audio samples in sampler? Would be more realistic, controllable and fun.
You can make a maschine group with needle drop, pick up, hum, dirt etc..
    my 2 cents..

Goldbaby has a pack which includes vinyl noises. Other than that, Im sure there's plenty of free stuff around.

He's not looking for vinyl noise or simulation he wants vinyl control meaning needle dropping.

I am confused as well as most people posting here.... So all you want to is to skip thru tracks to find good parts to sample? Any audio player can do that.

Consider Traktor, you can set up cue points, loops, use stems, all sorts.

Yeah I think it's not worth the investment unless you already have a device and software designed with a touch strip for needle dropping.
You can do it with the Traktor controllers (D2, S8 and S5) as well as some Pioneer and Numark controller.

He probably should have looked at Serato Sample since it does a lot of quick chopping.
