    Hi guys,

Just bought me the GR Session. Seems nice and it was recommended to me by both
my guitar instructor and the shopkeeper.

Now I've been experiencing some trouble with both the installation
of the Session driver and updating the Service Centre.

Now I've been skimming the internet and I've found serveral reactions of peeps
saying that the Session works, and doesn't work on Vista64. So what is it?
Should I Just return it to the shop or try and work on the install
tomorrow? (And already any specific deadline for the 64-drivers?)

    Thanks,
    Nikolas

I'm afraid that NI doesn't announce future products on the forums except in general announcements from Thomas Martin (usually in regard to updates to existing software), which are always found in the stickies section of each forum.

    Unofficial XP 64 drivers?

I know it's been said that NI isn't going to support XP64, but it's often the case that 64 bit drivers intended for Vista will also work on XP64; is there any word on whether this may prove to be the case with Guitar Rig x64 drivers?

I'm dying to pick up a copy of GR3 but not willing to switch away from XP64.

    Thanks for any info.

Yeah, having x64 drivers would boost sales, especially many pple use software like cubase, etc.
I have an 8GB RAM machine running Vista x64. Even though these music software are 32-bit, they are compiled with /LARGEADDRESSAWARE to be able to use 4GB (instead of 2GB) of RAM.

Has anyone had any success in installing the Session drivers under Vista 64 bit? I really don't care if I can't use all of my memory while I record, I just want to get this hardware working on my computer. Every time I try to install Session drivers the installation stops midway through. :(

It's because the current drivers aren't supported for vista 64 bit...
NI claims that they'd bring out a new driver, supporting vista 64bit, yet in my eyes it doesn't seem like it's keeping them awake...

yeah, i run vista 64-bit as well, and i'd like to buy GR w/ session or kontrol, but still waiting on drivers... capitalism fail for NI. if line6 comes out w/ 64-bit drivers first i'll just buy from them.

Yeah, I've been waiting and waiting for months . .and still waiting.
Come on NI, listen to your customers!
Looks like it's time for me to sell GR XE on ebay and get an edirol or m-audio - they are not exactly like GR, but at least I can start record directly on my Vista x64 machine!

I'm actually downgrading just so i can use everything. this is SO annoying. and I wish i'd get some kind of update on the status of 64 becauase i don't wanna have to downgrade and pay for labor and another version of vista. this just stinks

I've been so pissed off about this for the last month or so since I got Vista 64-bit. For some reason my computer won't let me install my old copy of XP for a dual boot; it crashes during XP install before I can even select the partition where I want it to go. I'm also not willing to shell out $200 for Vista 32-bit, either.

Anyway, I asked NI about their 64-bit drivers and I keep getting redirected to this stupid page: http://www.native-instruments.com/index.php?id=vista, which doesn't tell me anything I don't know and hasn't been updated since MAY 13. The customer service rep told me: "Unfortunately we can't comment on products or updates that will be possibly released in the future but haven't been announced yet." It doesn't make sense, really - I just want a straight answer from the guys at NI as to whether or not they are ever going to do this. If I don't hear back by the end of the year (they promised us 64-bit drivers Q4 2008) I'm ditching my Session I/O and going with something from another company.

It's shame, really, since I like the product, but the lack of communication from the company makes me wary of dealing with NI and of buying any of their things in the future.

I tried to run it with XPSP3 and it worked, but the VMWare software used up too many resources and my usb feed kept skipping, making it useless for practical recording.
