Has anyone an idea how to make the voice effect from the stroke´s lead singer julian casablancas with guitar rig? Tried a little bit with a regular guitar amp but i dont quiet get it to work.

    Here is an example:

I must be bored! Give this a try,

The patch requires GR4, not sure if all versions will run this. Made with the Hi CPU on, Gate off, Input volume 0.0dB, audio interface volume knob centered (if you have one). The components left open are for necessary level adjustment on your system (if any).

You can always tweak it for your own needs and voice.

    Thanks.
The mp3 sounds really good but it doesnt seem to work : /
Tried to copie it in the shared folder. And also to import it directly with guitar rig.

I have guitar rig 4 pro for mac os x.

I can't help you with mac but, have you tried drag & drop directly into the GR browser?

Just had to update to 4.1.1. It works now.
But there is a little bit to much distortion in it i guess. On your mp3 it sounds a little bit more clear.
Im using a usb mic btw.

Try lowering the first volume pedal and/or compressor (advanced controls) saturation, You'll have to tweak, The video seemed like it had some crackling so I drove it pretty hard to try to include it. I use 4.0.8 btw. you might want to play with the reso knob too. record into tapedeck 1, volume maxed, to tweak.

You can also try dropping everything into a Split Mix B side, drop a Volume pedal in the A side to balance the levels and mix a little dry in.

You have to tweak any preset from someone else, you don't have the same equipment or voice as me.

You're asking allot, I would have to hear your mix and the way it's fitting. In the video, the vocals seem to be buried pretty deep. I actually had a hard time hearing him.

You write more clearly in English than most Americans! I had no idea :S

    --------------------------------Google Translation-------------------------

The effect works great for this piece with your voice, love it, but...

Your vocal track is clipping somewhere, you have to lower some at the input (or the track itself) until no meters are clipping anywhere.

Drum and bass sounds like a perfect foundation to me, the guitars are very bright (shrill) and somewhat loud in the mix.

I suggest creating a bus (assuming your using a PC DAW) as a guitar master, send all guitar tracks to it and put any eq with shelving in it, cut everything above, somewhere between 1.5 - 4khz by no more than 6dB, 8 max. With the highs lowered, guitars may sit well with no level adjustments. Output this bus to the master.

Remix in the (non-clipping) vocal track to the darkened guitars, the current level is in good balance, I can understand you when not clipping "come to the party, have some fun...."

I wouldn't mind a copy of this song when your done, I like it allot! I'll do a light pre-mastering on the final for you, something is (physically) hurting my ears in the mix, I can get that out!

Im working with garageband by the way.
The drum is made with battery 3. All i did physically is voice, guitar and bass(the bass is my guitar =)) )

Just sent you another track and a link to another one.

Im using the mic from my logitech webcam logitech quickcam pro 9000. As you can hear. Its not that bad.

Usually the effects of this type in the word I get them to pitch shifter compressors and using some of the voices that deform
