A vst or DXI type plugin?
If so, then can VOKATOR be used or inserted as an effect within Sonar, or Project-5 ?

Hey- this wasnt a joke...Really- I would like to know just what kind of Plug-in Vocator happens to be. I really would like to know if I can take say a guitar audio signal, arm a track inside Sonar and use vokator to manipulate the sounds via a VST or DXI type plug-in? Is Vokator able to do this, or not?

It works as both. You might try actually reading the information about Vokator posted on NI's webpage; it's right there.

Captain, I had a whole line of insults ready to send
your direction, until I ran across the last page on

Ain't no thang. Sorry for sounding a bit pissy. I just get annoyed when it seems like people don't bother to read the information that's already readily available. Admitedly, there are quite a few pages before the information you were looking for.

    vokator is a...

    as i understand it:

on windows vokator is a DXi, RTAS, vst2 plug-in (and a standalone app compatible with asio2, direct sound and MME)

on mac os9 and osX vokator is a vst2, and RTAS, audio unit plug-in (and a standalone app compatible with asio2, soundmanager and core audio)

it appears the os x version is still waiting for the audio-unit plug to be released in a future update to the vokator software
