To any user of Vokator. I am very interested in purchasing Vokator but would like to be able to take a look at the owner’s manual first. I am running Mac OSX.

Could someone be kind enough to email me the manual in a pdf format? It would be greatly appreciated!!!

Also, a note to Native Instruments – I hope that this is not a problem with any copyright issues. If so, please let me know and accept my apologies.

    Hello Lynx 123,

Sorry to inform you that due to copyright issues we can't allow trading of manuals. I have however some number of requests by more experienced users to see the manual before purchasing, and perhaps we will take this into consideration for the future. For now it's against our official policy though.

I hope you understand then that I used the admin profile to remove your email address from the post. I would encourage you to download the Vokator demo (available for Mac and PC in the left navigation at http://www.nativeinstruments.de/index.php?vokator_us ) and play around. You also get a trial support account should you run into a difficult problem.

    Best Regards from Berlin,

    Matthew Smith

To NI Admin - Make Manuals Public

I believe very strongly that it is an excellent idea to make user manuals available for those who want to preview features and functionality prior to buying.

In any case the Vokator manual is a pile of cr*p. I've read it three times and it doesn't actually show you how to use the product. It doesn't have any tutorials and is written in what I can only politely refer to as 'KrautSpeak'.

I will never understand why software companies spend thousands of dollars on development and then hog-tie a prodct by providing a lousy manual. Why can't you spend a couple of hundred dollars getting your documents profesisonally translated?

Yeah, the manuals are not the very best translation I have ever seen, but to be honest I don't really have a complaint about them myself. I got a whole string of NI products recently and have read through the manuals, Vokator isn't the most detailed of them all.
I know from experience that it's quite a bit more than a couple hundred bucks to get manuals translated well. If I was on a software project, budgeting for the translation, proofreading/checking of a manual the size of Vokator's, I'd budget about $10-15K.
But I definately DO NOT mean to diminish your very very valid point which is that you and other users of a variety of levels of familiarity with the concept of vocoding are having a hard time getting the information you need out of the manual. I guess so am I:
Am I supposed to be able to edit parameters on Vokator while it is being used as an effects plugin in Nuendo?
I just loaded Absynth into this manchine, and I can't open the Patch in Absynth when it is being uses as a VSTi in Nuendo. So both apps are pretty much just static sound generators when used in Nuendo.
I MUST have something configured wrong or there is a bug in Nuendo. At least I HOPE so.
