    hi,

the output equalizer in Vokator seems very powerful (only using the demo right now)... is there a way to route a sound through this EQ w/o applying any other vocoding or synthesis effects?

and is it possible to use Vokator as a plugin (audio unit, when it's available) to apply this EQ-only effect to a track in my DAW?

    thanks.

  2. Hey Taylor,

That is no problem, each section of VOKATOR is in a way modular, if you look at the full screenshot you will see a sort of "power button" in each one section/function. You can make the visible/invisible as well as turn then on and off (bypass).

i saw the power buttons.. but not for the synthesis sections...

    but i will look again!

also, i tried turning down the levels for each path.. A, B, A*B, etc.. but, it seems like the entire summed output goes into the EQ, so i couldn't find a way to get it to simply pass an input to the EQ with nothing else.

the reason im trying to do this, by the way, is that i'm looking for an OSX replacement for AudioEase's "Periscope" plug in for digital performer.. which is a really really powerful FFT Equalizer. and i can't live without it!

    :)

I think that you should also check out the demo of Firium:

    elemental audio research

It is more oriented towards pure FIR type EQ. I use it all the time and love it.

yeah, i downloaded the demo.. but it can't cut the frequencies to negative infinity, like Periscope or Vokator can.... even with the frequency bands all the way down, you can still hear them.. it only "cuts".. not totally eliminates the frequencies....

that's what's so brilliant about Periscope...

and i've gone back to vokator, but see no way to mute the synth sections or input B.. as soon as i turn off input B, my input A no longer goes through the EQ section...

  6. Taylor,

    What happens in A + B mode?

    is that a test?

well, i went and tried it.. A+B mode, and turned the volume of B down... and.. well, it seems to do what i want it to!..

am i correct? did i pass the test?

    if so... thanks!!

now, when DP 4.1 comes out and i can successfully run a DP track thru Vokator in thise method as an AU plug in.. then i may have to buy Vokator...

  8. No test, I just don't have VOKATOR in a sequencer at my desk ; )
In standalone that's the mode that was working for me.

    best,

    matt
