Well, just that: I'm with Tiger still and won't upgrade for a while, so I was wondering if anybody is using Vokator and Spektral Delay under Leopard and with what results.
    Thanks.

    Any word yet?

Next problem is, where can I find a copy of Vokator for sale?

STUPID decision to abandon this product!

With enough demands, maybe they'll relaunch it. :-D

Indeed, the reason why they made this move is beyond me.
There are companies out there (such as Eiosis and Sugar Bytes) which are happily supporting waaay inferior products, when it comes to compare them to the features Vokator had: calling it a "vocoder" was pretty understatement.
    I want it back.

    Orange vocoder for OSX Leopard/Intel!

Prosoniq announces Mac OS X Intel Plugin Product Line for 2008 (26 Nov 2007)

Over the past few months Prosoniq has been working on converting their existing Mac OS 9 / Carbon code to the Mac OS X Cocoa platform. This important transition has become necessary to provide new versions of their products for the 32bit and 64bit Universal Binary flavors of Apple's Mac OS X in 2008. Aside from several new and unique products that are currently being worked on the release schedule for the second quarter 2008 includes a new version of Orange Vocoder and the Prosoniq morph plugins for the Intel Macs.

More details on supported plugin formats, features and pricing will be announced at Musikmesse (March 12th-15th, 2008, Frankfurt, Germany).

It seems to work with Leopard...

I've just started up Vokator under Mac OS 10.5.1 (Leopard), and it seems to work. This wasn't an "in-depth"-Test, though - since my main audio-device (M-Audio Ozone) STILL does not have Leopard-drivers, yet (which I think is a shame).

I must say that I agree: It's a big shame that Vokator is no longer supported. In fact, it's the reason why I'm hesitating to upgrade to KOMPLETE 5 at the moment... It should just remain working, though, shouldn't it?

Can anyone confirm to me that Spectral Delay and Vokator won't break when I buy and install KOMPLETE 5?

i've heard people say that you can just use the K4 install discs and still install just those two apps w/out problems.

i am wondering about 10.5 support for them, though. it seems like the only issue was the installer and supposedly there's a workaround, but i haven't heard from anyone who's actually done it.....

I have Vokator and Spektral delay running on leopard.

Download the special Leopard installer from the NI support site.

Stick in your Komplete 4 disk.

Run the downloaded installer and point it at the cd drive when it asks.

Wait while it works things out for a few minutes then the installation starts, choose the two and it installs ok.

    Cheers

I totally agree, it was the stupidest decision ever to ban Vocoder,
this awesome piece of software, from the portfolio. I'm sure there
still is a niche-market for this kinda stuff.

    Best, Mars

Yep rediculous. I get the impression that NI are moving away from really interesting quirky stuff to more commercial ordinary. Shame. They are a pretty wfull customer service as well

Ah- I see the dump's from Live. Have you run Vokator in standalone? All NI apps should be run in standalone immediately after an update or install, and before trying to use them as plugins for the first time.

Trash Live's preferences.cfg and run Vokator in standalone. Reboot your system and start Live.

I might not be right here though, Andy- my reading of crash dumps' spotty at best. Feel free to look and see what you think; you're much better than I am with this.

However, it won't hurt, and it could very well be all that's needed.

well i looked up .cfg files and deleted the ones that had been created today. they were project.cfg. seems like that did not work. I tried then to open vokator standalone but it crashed. I'm not sure that i have trashed the right files. any other way that i would find them

thanks for your help on this. z

No- it's your preferences.cfg that you want to trash; it's in your Live preferences folder.

If I remember, in 7 you have an option to view your preferences folder (I tested the 7 beta, but I'm still running 6 myself). Use that.

Ah... two seconds spent on the Ableton site's FAQs answered it.

    Mac OS X: /User/Library/Preferences/Ableton

Delete the preferences.cfg in that folder. Done.
