volume names changes and re-instalations from Komplete and others.

i notice that the installers use absolute paths in preference files for libraries and install locations and the updaters and apps reference these for respective functions.

now if one decides to change the name of their hard drive, is there a way to update this info without having to sudo edit each plist file or going through the full 2.9 hour install for komplete 9 ultimate (even if you installed the libraries already, it takes this long to install the plist files and authorization files as those seem to be done last and if you deselect items, it does not write these files). did i miss something with the installer, is there a way to just install the preference plist files and auth xml files ( install directory and service center ) without installing anything else (one may want to do this if they add a new OS on a new hard drive.. or if they change their hard drive name)
