    Hi all!
Today I wanted to play with a few samples and decided to try some NI plugins I haven't used before, e.g. Driver. I was confused that it turned my stereo sound on a stereo track to mono. I tried Supercharger - the same. Bus Compressor - the same! How can a bus compressor work mono only? I couldn't believe that NI can't make stereo plugins, it would ruin the value completely.
I experimented more and found out that VST plugins (from Native Instruments GmbH) are actually stereo (shows 2/4 in 2 out in REAPER I/O info) - but I preferred VST3 previously (from Native Instruments - without GmbH) - and these only work as "2 in 1 out" making stereo sound mono. Why is this? Why is a plugin for a newer plugin standard (VST3) worse or less flexible than the version before? It is very confusing.

I just loaded up the VST3 plugins you mentioned in Reaper and all have "2/4 in 2 out" in the I/O info. On the Pin Plugin Connector popup, make sure "VST3 Bus Size" dropdown is not set to "1" but rather set to "Auto"

Hi, that's what I checked - it is set to Auto. Setting it to 2 explicitly does nothing either. Setting to 4 adds Output rows, but not columns. Adding inputs doesn't work either, of course, as it doesn't add another column to the output matrix.
    VST 3 looks like this:

In VST 2 version it looks as expected:

I'm using REAPER 6.42 on Windows 10, both tracks are otherwise identical (duplicated before adding the FX).

Using 6.42 as well and version 1.4 of Supercharger what is your version of Supercharger have not updated to 1.4.2 yet.

Update: updated Supercharger to v 1.4.2 and still seeing 2/4 in 2 out. The update change log does state that a routing issue (in somw Daws) was corrected in the vst3 that was introduced in 1.4.1.

That was it! I used version 1.4.1 of both, and while it was fine for the VST version, it wasn't in VST3. ;-) Thank you very much. I routinely update when I do something with Native Access, but it wouldn't occur to me to do it when seeing such a strange thing. I should have tried it.
