    Hi,
I have Vanguard VST instrument. How do I assign the Cutoff to one of the Kore knobs for automation.
    thanks

    Don't think you can...

Kore's not a midi controller. It only works with Kore VST and knobs output as automation data, not straight midi (though you can right click a knob in the Kore VST to assign it to a midi controller and record that).

Does Vanguard only support midi and not vst automation? Hard to believe.

Otherwise if it does, follow these quick steps:

    click on big ASSIGN button.
Click or move a kore controller (flashes red)
    open vanguard editor
move the cutoff control in vanguard
    click the big ASSIGN button

The control properties windows should open confirming both the kore control and the vst parameter destination. You should see a short label in the controller access page, and certainly you should hear the filter cutoff change.

    Does this not work?

    Hi
yeah that worked. Now I can't get the info to record into Protools. I put the write enabled button or latch and nothing records into protools accept midi notes. anyone have a fix

vanguard already has a predefined template provided by NI/kore. when you load up vanguard they should be premapped. i believe the cutoff is to knob 5 EA pg1 , reso to knob 6 ea pg1 - etc.

You are right they have predifned pages. But I still can't get knob movements to record into Protools. That is why I bought this box. I am able to draw the automation into protools under knob 5 but I would like to do it live while I record.

i'm using sonar here and can record the knob movements fine as long as i have write automation checked. can't comment on protools though so hopefully someone else will chime in.

    User Error

I asked around and the consensus is USER ERROR.

Since Protools requires you to select a specific control before automating, you must open the Automation window on that track and select the Kore Page and knob number you want to automate. Then, the automation status controls will apply to writing, latching etc...

Other hosts let you begin this process by write enabling and simply moving the control in the editor. Protools is not one of them apparently.

Try that and get back to us.

    Hope this Helps(tm),

ps: prolly don't need that other post...
