VST Sequencing in Ableton - Piano Roll Doesn't Work?

I am using Maschine as a VST within ableton to come up with some drum patterns. In one of my drum patterns that I've created within Maschine, I have tinkered within the piano roll for the kick drum to change the tones. However, when I drag and drop that MIDI clip into Ableton and play it through Ableton, I don't hear the change in tone from the piano roll.

Does this feature not work when used as a VST or is there something I have set up incorrectly? I've simply dragged the VST onto a channel within Ableton. Any help would be appreciated.

When you use the pads to note pitches batch setup in Maschine, that ofcourse maps all drums to note pitches in Ableton's Piano Roll. To get a specific drum sample to use note pitches you will have to assign the pad to a channel instead and change the channel in ableton's channel strip. That should allow you to export the actual note information in that pad. Think of it as exporting an instrument in maschine as opposed to drums.

ok so if I am reading this correctly, I will have to create a separate channel within Ableton just for that one pad, and route the pad from Maschine into that track in Ableton?

Then I can't have the kick as part of the same MIDI pattern as the rest of my drum sounds and have to do it separate?

if you use different notes to play a Kick Drum Sound, and you want to Drag n Drop the MIDI Part, you will need to put it into a separate Group, and copy the Pattern in Maschine to that Group. if you then Drag n Drop the MIDI - after doing Sounds To MIDI - it will work.

to clarify, Drag n Dropping the MIDI from up to 16 Sounds, only works if each sound only uses just one Note.
