    Hey guys,
I was quoted a price for a warping service to warp my vinyl rips but the price was very high so i decided to buy ableton and warp the tracks myself. I spent a few hours last night reading how to warp etc and managed to warp 1 song but when i exported it and loaded it in traktor 2 it lashes red and says ''Couldn't calculate BPM due to missing transients or corrupt file'' so it wont load. I think ive made a mistake somewhere along the line so here is what i did:

Loaded song into ableton and warped it correctly
Clicked 'freeze track' (clicking this was the only way i could flatten tempo)
    Flatten tempo to 170
    Export audio/video to .wav
Loaded into traktor with problems stated above

Ive obviously made a mistake here but im a complete newb at this ableton exporting stuff. Please can someone who knows what there doing tell me where im going wrong and how to do this correctly. Help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

quite a few different ways to warp in abelton!

But first off did you convert the track back to mp3. I have noticed that traktor does not handle wav well for me. and got that same message.

As far as warping... this is my prefered way.

    first just push warp.
change the style of warp to pitch
listen to the track and change the bpms master tempo up top( not the bpms in the grid panel).
once it sounds right switch back to beats in grid mode
click the fist beatmarker(set to one) then warp again.
Also when exporting from abelton the whole track needs to be selected after dragging it into the arrangement view. otherwise what you exported is nothing. I prefer to just start the warp in arrangement view. to select the whole track just click the track.

Of course this all is dependent on the first warp being right so setting the first beat is important.

I will check out your method of freeze track.

If traktor does not get the grid right sometimes on most dance tracks it is easy to adjust, very rarely do I see a dance track that can't be fixed. most the time i just move the grid a little or even out the bpms to a whole number. other times i drop a few grid markers and lock it.
warping is what is use for non dance tracks with live drums etc.

    hope this helps
