It depends what you plan to do with it.

If you plan to play samples, control, modify and create 2 remixdecks you should prefer the F1. Its is still the best specialized Controller for Remixdecks from my point of view.

If you already have remixdecks and just want to maybe grab a sample to a remixdeck slot or play ist the D2 is also great, but for controlling 2 Remixdecks i strongly recomment buy a PAIR of D2s. The D2 feels strongly limited from my point of view in creating or modifying the remixdecks. Also you may not really replace the X1 with only one D2.

One single D2 will NOT replace your X1 or a F1 if you put much work into creating and modifying own remixdecks.
With a pair of D2s you may completly dump the X1 and use the D2s also for playing existing Remixdecks but they never fully replaced my F1.

On the other hand please be aware of another fact.. the D2 is HUGE and heavy compared to the X1 (seriously!).

^And it needs its own dedicated power supply as well, unlike the X1 or F1, which can potentially be an issue for playing out somewhere with it. That said, it renders the X1 redundant for a home set-up. Also agree that it is far less flexible for remix decks, apart from being able to display the two rows of samples on the screen.
